The Asgarnian Space Program (called ASP) is the national aerospace agency of Asgarnieu that is responsible for space exploration, satellite launching, and orbital weaponry restocking.

ASP operates more than 1,000 satellites.

History

The Asgarnian Space Program was started in 1988 after the success of the United State's NASA Program. It was decided that Asgarnieu needed a space program not only to explore, but to exploit its vastness. Asgarnieu began launching massive amounts of trash into the sun so it would be disposed of, and it still does today. Another reason to start a space program was the effeciency of satellites. Asgarnieu launched 3 sattelites in 2 weeks. It now has several in permanent orbit.

Shuttle Program

The Asgarnian Shuttle Program was concieved in 1992 amid the success of the US Space Shuttle. Asgarnieu began designing its own space shuttle loosly based upon the US Space Shuttle and the Soviet Buran. The design came out shining.

Recent Launches

The last launch of an Asgarnian Space Shuttle was on November 3rd, 2005. The last launch of an Asgarnian Rocket was on May 24, 2006. It was carrying an AS-9 Permanent Orbit Satellite.

Future Programs

A satellite platformed space-based weapon has been in the works for over 2 years. The concieved design relies on a nuclear-powered satellite with a large capacity Tungsten-Steel alloy-carrying magazine that would theoretically fire these Tungsten-Steel projectiles at close to the speed of light. A prototype has been designed and is being tested. Also, a space-based laser system has been thought about, but was put on the back-burner for the other program.
