Asuani Isitritu Atenitu-laā Ŋuri-Eilari is the adopted son of King Ateni and his husband, King Iðari. Therefore, he is the current heir to the throne of Baranxtu. His parents, the king's sister Crown Princess Samara and her husband Crown Prince Isitr, had died in a car crash prior to the adoption.

Biography

Asuani was born January 11 in Misma, the capital of the province Āŋ-Neila where his mother, the king's sister, was the Elected Governor.

In June, his mother - supported by her husband Isitr made a tour through the province for Samara's election campaign. They had left their son with at the family residence in Laguria. On their way from the southern town Hanit to the neighboring city Lesai, the car they were travelling in had an accident, killing both.

The king and his husband almost immediately applied for Asuani's adoption and were given temporary custody a week after the accident. The adoption however was not finalized until 1997.
At this point, it was not sure wether Asuani could become the First Heir to the throne, as the constitution hadn't made clear if the heir had to be a descendent of the monarch, a blood relative or simply their child, adopted or not. Therefore, he did keep his title 'Crown Prince', but he was only fifth in succession to the throne, coming after the king's elder sister Lehura and her three children.

It wasn't until 2000 when a referendum changed the constitution's wording to clearly include any children, wether biological or adopted, into the line of succession. This made Asuani the First Heir to the throne, which means that in the case of the current king's death or abdication, he will be made king. If this should happen before his 17th birthday, it will be his father Iðari who will govern for him.

The royal couple have tried hard to keep their children out of the spotlight, and only few about Asuani is known so far. He has been, however, by many sources been called a quiet, smart and charming boy.

Name

Explanation of Current Name

Usually, children adopted by royals lose their complete former patronym/matronym and familyname, being replaced with the adopting family's surname and the appropriate patronym/matronym.

Surprisingly, the king and his husband did not follow this tradition, but instead went with the procedure that is done among commoners. Asuani kept his actual patronym (Istritu), received the king's name as an adoptive patronym (Atenitu-laā) and had his surname changed from his biological father's (Sergi) to his adoptive father's name (in this case, the king's, Ŋuri-Eilari).

When Iðari King of the Iris was made official co-regent of Baranxtu, Cikoutimi and Otea, Asuani's adoptive patronym was changed to Atenitu-ā-Iðaritu-laā in accordance with the now equal status of his parents.
