Attican German, also referred to as 'Eropian German', is a dialect of Hochdeutsch, or High German. It is spoken by over five billion persons as a first language, and many more as a foreign language.

History

The first settlers of the Atticos Peninsula were of proto-Eropian descent, and spoke a similar tongue to many proto-Eropians throught the continent. They most likely emigrated via modern-day FPC. Over many millenia, their language shifted from lack of contact with other proto-Eropians. Germanic tribes from an unknown source arrived in Atticos approximately 1000 years ago. They kept in contact with their homeland, and the language evolved with them. The language also mixed with the native Atticos tongue, and became modern Attican German.

Differences

Attican German is different from High German in several ways:

Attican German contains the following additional characters in the alphabet:

  • ïÏ - ie
  • ÿŸ - ye
  • ëË - ee
  • èÈ - ei

The Attican dialect also does not contain any form of cases or genders. They are allowed, but are not required, nor recommended. The Attican Royalty does use cases and genders in titles, however.
