Auctoritas

The Auctoritas, a bureau within the Morindiran Security Commission, is a 16-person federal police organization with special spheres of authority, and the newest federal law enforcement agency in Morindira.

Duties

The Auctoritas is responsible for apprehending wanted fugitives, providing protection for the federal judiciary, transporting federal prisoners, and managing assets seized from criminal enterprises. This bureau was created in early December 2007 in response to the November Fifth Uprising.

Auctors also have the power to enlist any willing civilian as deputies with or without training.

Organization

The Auctoritas is based in Valinskya, Mestya and, under the authority and direction of the Madame Director, is headed by the Magistrate Auctor, who is assisted by a Promagistrate Auctor. Auctoritas Headquarters provides command, control and cooperation for the disparate elements of the service.

The Magistrate Auctor and each Auctor is appointed by the Praetor Emeritus of Morindira and subject to confirmation by the Madame Director.

When an individual is appointed to the office of Auctor, he or she takes a false name during his or her Auctoritas career. This is done to protect the identity of the Auctor and so that he or she leaves everything of his or her previous life behind and truly becomes a servant of the State.
