Perhaps the least-successful of the Golden Generation of Starblaydi Football, Augusto Diaz was a 16 year-old Jhanna City Youth player when he was part of the squad who lifted the Under-21 World Cup.
From there he made only one more appearance for the Starblaydia Under-21s before sinking to the bottom of a pile of players that included Ryan Kovac, Tyree Vang, Juan Santiago, Giovanni Lopez and Cherry Garcia. For eight years no national call-ups came - all the squads did not require his help - until the tenth AOCAF. Even then he only warmed the reserves bench, but still came away with a Winner's medal as part of the squad.
Finally, finally, he made his senior debut in the 11th Atlantian Oceania Cup of Association Football against Andossa Se Mitrin Vega at the ripe old age of 32. His first two international goals soon came in the second match against hated rivals Lamoni, though Starblaydia were soon dumped out of the tournament. Playing in the Spruitland Captial, New Brux, however, before the nation became recognised as a footballing power, did not help his chances.
He was most notable for being sent off in an AOCAF11 match against Sarzonia for defending fellow Spruitland First Division firecracker Francisco Ibanez in a fight that kicked off a twenty-two man brawl.
