Azaghal Nardukher

The current dwarf-lord of Barak-dûm. The mightiest yet among the children of Mahal, the Gabiluzbad stands the tallest of any dwarf yet to walk the sands of time, his family name, Nardukher, means Soldier of Might, and the tales of his deeds in leading his Barukzigil in suppressing the foul creatures of the dark are legend. His tall, generally less stout when compared to other dwarves (which isn't saying much) frame is marked by a long, wavy yet undecorated beard, his eyes blaze the flame-color of the Nardukher family, and in his eyes the inferno rages the brightest.

Ambitious, intelligent, and tolerant, it was the Lord Azaghal that financed the ingenious Khalinikhas, rediscoverer of Khazad-dûm and inventor of Dwarven Fire. Under his rule the extraterran colonies of Barazûn on Mars and Azangathol on Charon were built and manned into powerhouses of dwarven achievement.

According to the Peace of Sauranero, signed 1704 A.D., Dao Yorinaga is the permanent (nominal, to be sure) feudal suzerain of the dwarflord, a fact the successive generations have been less than happy about.

For now he is overseeing the rebuilding of Khazad-dûm. His more prominent relatives are his nephew Narvi Nardukher and cousin Andvari.
