BGM-6 Battle Axe
The Battle Axe cruise missile is a supersonic, anti ship/land cruise missile designed to be launched from guided missile cruisers, destroyers and other ships. It also can be air-launched from large aircraft such as bombers, but due to its relatively large size and heavy weight, it is usually only found aboard ships. The Battle Axe has two versions, an anti-ship/bunker-busting version, which has an armor piercing tip, and the standard version which can carry a submunitions packet, high explosive, radiological, chemical, biological, nuclear or other special warhead. The Battle Axe is powered by four PD-RX-RM2502 RAM jet engines and one solid-fuel rocket booster, which gives it a final attack speed of Mach 5.8 (over 4,000 mph/6,500 kph). It's range is about 1,000 miles (1,609km) and is guided by multiple systems. The guidance interface is modular allowing for upgrades and replacement with newer technology as it is developed. It is produced by Phoenix Dynamix and used by several dozen nations.
