The Baboy Smashing Yellow are perhaps the most famous of all of The Phillipino Azores' sports teams.

History

The Smashing Yellow were founded in 1958 as the Karagatan-Canada Steel Smashing Yellow, by demand of Canada Steel, the leasers of Karagatan at the time. The name came from an ad for the Yellow Pages at that time, which featured a group of people who were for some reason fed up at the Yellow Pages chanting "Smash the yellow! Smash the yellow!". The then-CEO's seven year-old son grabbed the microphone at a shareholder's meeting to name the team, and started yelling "Smash the yellow, smash the yellow!" during the time of suggestions. The idea was written as a suggestion, and won unanimously when the matter came to open vote.

PAHL Dominance

Perhaps because of the appealing nature of the name, the Yellow have won twenty PAHL cups in their fifty years, more than the second, third and fourth teams' numbers combined. Their success is blamed largely on "sticking it out" with one coach at a time: no matter how bad their worst moments, every coach in Smashing Yellow history have retired of their own will and never been fired.
