Babylon 5's world is perhaps the most copied fictional universe in NationStates, and most of that, the technology of the series and movies are what is used by many spacefaring nations in their Space RP.

This might be due to the fact that unlike the world of Star Wars and Star Trek, Babylon 5's world is quite realistic. The spaceships have no shielding, the younger races use traditional propulsion and abide the rules of Newtonic physics; An object in space, propelled with a somekind of force like an chemical engine(traditional rockets), will travel as long until it meets a counter-force(for example, gravity) that either stops the object or takes control of the object and nudges from it's original course.

There are races who use gravimetric propulsion (The Minbari for example); meaning their ships do not abide by the same rules as the traditional propulsion. But these somewhat superior races are quite rarely seen in any kind of roleplay.

The most copied style of the B5 universe is the style of the Earth Alliance.

The most serious players though, they create their own races and styles themselves, and in general it's thought that mainly n00bs and people just too lazy to create a world of their own use these already created worlds.
