Backpackers’ Red House is a hotel company operating establishments in all of Ariddia’s major cities, and some smaller cities and towns. Its name is both a reference to Ariddian communism, and a play on the famous glossy, dark-red walls of the far more luxurious Hotel Rêvane Central.
The company provides cheap but adequate accommodation for foreign visitors, and free accommodation for Ariddians. Its hotels do not contain a restaurant, but each as a communal kitchen area, for guests to do their own cooking. Foreign students sometimes stay in these hotels, although most prefer to live on campus or in student accommodation centres.
