Bailey O'Sullivan is the influential and powerful President of Delta Green. Within the laws of that society, all power is based solely upon his singular whims, and every authority that can be found within Delta Green is derived from his own endorsement. President O'Sullivan also completely changed the position of President within his nation, for now instead of being a complete puppet of the Parliament shadow government, O'Sullivan has shown himself capable and willing to pursue his own agenda. However, he tends to serve the interests of the Parliament, and is well-known for his eccentric behavior and brazen charisma.

History

All records of Bailey O'Sullivan's history is strictly confidential, leaving many gaps unfufilled. This is "for Our President's protection."

O'Sullivan was born on June 15, 1966 and was raised by his single mother in Limerick, Ireland. Fortunately his mother was a very successful woman after coming upon an inheritance and he was able to live a comfortable life. Showing an aptitude far beyond his age, he was generally seen as eccentric or "weird" by his fellow students. Unfounded rumors abound that his mother's own neurotic behavior and care of her son left him with a definable impression. Most of these allegations are of course denied. Bailey was regarded as a gifted, and despite his eccentric personality, often charismatic individual even at a young age in his Catholic schooling.

After showing his potential, his mother used what was left of horribly squandered funds to secure a line of finance for furthering her son's education, which she took great pride in. Attending a much higher form of education at a private boarding school, he showed great skill in his rhetoric, literature, and math classes, always praised for his analytic and meticulous examination of the facts. Attending in the United Kingdom at the University of Oxford upon a substantial scholarship, he gained a Masters in political science while he minored in psychology.

During his stay at Oxford he met a brilliant young graduate named Dr. James Maxwell. Leaving a definable impression upon the already rather "loony" O'Sullivan, his experiences with the nutty doctor served further to bring him on the fringe. They became good friends and had lengthy discussions about political science. O'Sullivan, to this day, jokingly refers to himself as "Maxwellian." Memorable nights include staying up the night before finals to watch the Marx Brothers. They parted ways afterwards when O'Sullivan was offered a job back in the Eire.

Cold War

Returning back to his homeland in Ireland, O'Sullivan was hired in Dublin to become an analyst of intelligence for the fledgling government. As a noted careerist, he worked himself within an alarming amount of time to the highest echelons. Working as advisor to even higher powers within the North Atlantic Trade Organization, he played significant roles behind the scenes in orchestrating the anti-communist activities that were being espoused at the current time by NATO. Some say Bailey was at the Berlin Wall "with a sledgehammer" himself to bring it down. This is meant figuratively, as his analysis of the political situation in Berlin was instrumental in aiding American and British propaganda which brought about the dismantling of the wall. Bailey was extremely young for such a position at the time, but it was well-noted his never-satiated ambition and drive.

Post-conflict in the Balkans, Bailey returned mostly to domestic tasks in Ireland. Sometimes labelled as a British sympathizer, he had no respect for the often violent activities of the various factions of the Irish Republican Army still active. He often voiced criticism of the threat to stability they presented and how it was disadvantageous for the state of Ireland to pursue a wishy-washy policy upon them. He had also pointed towards the USSR, even in his devalued position, as an enemy to the free world. He had secured intelligence and documents that lead to the very real posibility of agitation and "revolutionary" activities endorsed by the Soviet Union within the Republic of Ireland. He called for action and sanctions against the USSR's posturing, but the government turned a blind eye to his offers. He had a failed run for Prime Minister that same year, and after a demoralizing defeat, he had retired from his position.

Post-Holiday Revolution

Prior to the Holiday Revolution, he had very much known the Soviet Union's intent. During the events that took place, he had been escorted out of the nation by Delta Green agents assigned to make sure he had escaped alive. Taken to the newly constructed Capitol in Antarctica. Angered at the loss of his homeland to the Soviets he had despised, he was offered by Sheng-ji Yang, Chair of Human Relations for the fledgling Delta Green organization, to become a high-ranking analyst for the organization. O'Sullivan was present in the organization as they began to construct the basis of their nation, and he orchestrated the Woomera Incident that allowed for the takeover of Australia. Furthermore, he was instrumental in the analysis of Soviet forces in Antarctica during the Hyperborean Purge, his first involvement in an actual military operation.

After the "retiring" of former President Galvin McKinnit, whom no records remain and no information is available, the Arliament once again met to decide what face and mind they could use. Stepping in a new direction for their third attempt, they chose Bailey O'Sullivan for his charismatic persona and his ability to actually be useful and not always have to rely on the Parliament to create policy. Satisfied with his performance, he has easily superceded the amount of prestige and authority granted to the previous two Presidents, and has become a historic leader domestic and abroad.

Political Career

Bailey O'Sullivan progressed to become exceedingly popular, rising to a near personality cult like status in Delta Green. His appointment of propaganda commissioner Alanis Yang was a very shrewd move, as her massively successful and powerful "campaign of trust" propelled him into unprecedented popularity. Using his own powerful skills of analysis that were finely honed by his experience in the Delta Green organization.

His involvement in the planning of the Woomera Incident and Hyperborean Purge gave him significant notice by the Parliament. His mabition stretches even farther than Delta Green. It was O'Sullivan who spearheaded the efforts within Delta Green to establish the Trillenium Committee, ironically established to prevent another Woomera Incident. He also works with his good friend Bernard J. Oppenheimer in furthering the international cause of development of nuclear technology. Joint founding the Organization of Radiological Powers (ORP) with Commissioner Oppenheimer, and becoming founding chairman of the Trillenium Committee.

Continuing to make a name for himself abroad, rarely does O'Sullivan spend a huge majority of his time campaigning within Delta Green anymore. Besides his extensive analysis and reports that he continues to do as he creates Delta Green policy, he has to travel abroad and begin to bring Delta Green further into the world of diplomacy. He leaves most of domestic policy to fall under the executive advisors he has appointed.

Personal Life

Bailey O'Sullivan is known to take occassional holidays. While he lives a rather secluded life outside of the public eye, what is known is rather eccentric. Even at the age of 40, he remains "happily" unmarried, despite his own rhetoric praising the benefits of state sponsored marriage between Delta Green citizens. He has various homes which are kept mostly clandestine in each of the major inhabitated populations within Delta Green, and moves from one to the other upon occassion when taking time off his work.

O'Sullivan has a love for Irish food and culture, taking pride in his roots. Refusing to hire a cook for himself, he prides himself upon his 'countless' recipies for potatoes. While he mostly only cooks and eats traditional Irish meals, he is also said to have a soft spot for Thai and Italian pasta salad. He refuses to eat in public.

Bailey O'Sullivan has often spoke of his own fandom of the progressive rock group Genesis, though this lies in their more prog years before the departure of guitarist Steve Hackett, after which the band took a decided turn towards pop under the influence of Phil Collins. With possibility of a reunion, Bailey O'Sullivan has contacted the remanants of the band and the former members, for the possibility of Delta Green touring.
