History
Although the Universidad Nacional de Vassfforcia was founded in the 1880s, it didn't had a professional football team until 1939, the same year as the Instituto Tecnológico de Vassfforcia. The 40s and 50s were unremarkable for the team, but in 1966 they won their first title in the LFV and innaugurated their best decade ever. From 1966 to 1974 the Killer Whales were champions on 4 occasions and played a total of 9 final games. However, when the 66 Generation retired the Killer Whales retourned to their usual mediocre results in the league.

Further Information
As the ITV and the UNV are the most top universities in the country the academic rivalry existing between both is taken to every field, including all sports. Hence the rivalry between the Átomos and the Babllenas Asesinas is just less infamous as the one between Vaqueros de Plenfia and Caballos Salvajes. However, this is mainly because their fans don't start riots as often.
FAQ: Why does a Vassfforcian team, from an inland city has a team named Killer Whales if there are not even orcas in Vassfforcia?
Because in 1951, when the UNV was looking for a name for all their teams the students voted to elect the name and Juan Pío Márquez, a student of biology, proposed the name Killer Whales because, the Vassfforcian National Animal is the dolphin and the orca is the biggest and mightiest kind of dolphin. Killer Whales was preferred over Orcas as it sounds much more mean and aggresive.
The name has already became a joke as the meanest and mightiest dolphins of the league end up most of the time among the five worst-ranked teams.
