Baroque-Kaeneian

The Serene^Union of Kaenei recognises in official capacity two languages- That of Terran English which is of compulsory familiarisation, and the altogether less well known Baroque-Kaeneian. The latter being the primary language of choice many centuries ago before the displacement that brought Kaeneians to Earth and subsequently saw the founding of the Serene^Union itself.

Whilst English is fluently practiced and mastered, Baroque-Kaeneian is unique in that the complete mastery of the language is unheard of. Natural, though much resisted integration with the environment of Earth led to sharp decline in its use which in turn led to the subtleties and nuances being lost first, followed by more basic fundamentals until such time as only the barest shadow of the original language survives intact. It is a matter of considerable praise to be able to communicate in the ancient tongue and scholars dedicate many years in return for what might superficially seem little return.
