Introduction

In 2001 the Julius Caesar III population underwent crisis as it was simply too large to maintain within the existing borders. Resources were stretched and poverty swept the country. Julius Caesar began protesting that Super Rome was inhibiting the progress of the Juilian Nation, as it did not permit any encroachment on its land. However the Imperator refused this claim out of hand and instead accused Julius Caesar of an inability to conduct government affairs. This created a political storm. The two nations had endured a bitter rivalry ever since Julian creation. (Caesar had attempted an armed coup of the Imperial Palace in 1729, but the defeated rebels were permitted land by the Imperator, this became Julius Caesar III.) Upon its creation strict conditions were to be adhered to by the new Julian dictatorship, one of which was to never threaten the borders of Super Rome. As relations soured it began to emerge that Caesar, in sheer desperation, was preparing for assault. Negotiations, offering several Super Roman colonies for Julian use were cut short when RomNet discovered a terrible truth.

The Super Roman orbital fleet was recalled from monitoring McGranaghanataria and Beckitaria to ensure that security was maintained. The Spartan infiltration squad was also recalled from the McGranaghanatarian capital and ordered to link up with the fleet over Yew Island.

RomNet reports flooded into the central tactical HAL bunker. The data indicated a massive army assembling in the South of Caesar. The Spartans were deployed to survey the area. The Master Chief, along with Spartans 119-126 took the chiefs stealth-equipped pelican to investigate the area. Upon arrival the Spartans discovered what appeared to be a disused weapons facility. Insertion revealed very a disturbing situation. This facility was to be used as a deep strike tactical warhead launch base. Its range allowed precise targeting from Super Rome to Roudland. This was highly unacceptable to the Imperator. It was thus that Super Rome called upon her allies of Roudland and Friendly Aliens for consultation. Upon his return the Chief then set out to Roudland with Longsword transport. Spartan Guard and ruler BazZeRg escorted the Imperator, on annual leave in Friendly Aliens, to Roston via Albatross transport

Rise of Nations

Once in Roston the three leaders discussed all military possibilities. Both were in agreement that this threat could not hang over the Alliance. The latest RomNet tactical readouts were displayed and it was clear that Ilius, the dictator of Julius Caesar III was indeed preparing for large-scale offensive. Roudland pledged to support the Super Roman army with 2000 troops, 300 Dark shock troopers and 210 Spearman 2 armoured vehicles. Friendly Aliens also pledged 10 Orions with 20 Sundance Corvettes and 50 Super Mutants including 10 Radiants.

The Imperator returned with the Master Chief to Sparta. It was here the five star generals were called along with the council members. General Newmont of Roudland was also summoned. Councillors Keyes, Cortana and the Master Chief analysed the situation. Keyes wanted to simply destroy the installation from orbit. This however was refuted by the chief and Cortana consecutively as they believed the force of the MAC gun would cause far too great environmental damage. This coupled with the fact that the missile capabilities had yet to be analysed indicated that orbital bombardment would not be the best course of action. It was then that the Roudland Minister suggested a land assault; this was deemed the only course of action.

Military Tension ran high; the Super Roman orbital fleet arrived over Super Rome and prepared for battle. The army was assembled and tactics were devised based upon tactical RomNet readouts and Roudlands intelligence committee. On the 25 January 2002 witnesses by the demilitarised zone had seen smoke emanating from the missile base. RomNet analysts tracked the trajectory of the missile and predicted its course. Its intended target was Croton, the northernmost city of the Super Roman Empire. Pilum missile defence batteries operating by the border shot down the missile but the intent was however clear when the missile detonated with a huge radioactive explosion. The Super Roman army mobilised and marched towards the border. Telegrams were sent to Roudland and Friendly Aliens to signify the beginning of war and that now was the time to send reinforcements.

Battle is prepared

The Super Roman forces set up base camp in the Tikrit desert. Here there were adequate water supplies and landing sites. The Super Roman army stood 4500 marines strong with 450 Spartans. The Caesar army reached 9000 strong including several tank battalions.

The Spartans quickly established the forward command post. RomNet stations were established and depots were created. Base camp was situated 3 miles from the Super Julian border and 4 miles from the Silo. RomNet reports were received indicating that the Caesar army was mobilising. The Antilles, the Avatar and the Insuperable, were called upon to provide assistance in the battle ahead.

The Super Roman army took up defensive positions, a makeshift landing strip was created for Longsword craft and Pelicans were equipped with bomb pods. The Scorpion Desert Core took up defensive positions on the nearby sand ridge. These Scorpions were of the type II and III variety. Many of the Type III vehicles were positioned inside “bunker builders” these deployable tanks dug into dunes creating a firing platform within them. Gauss hogs and Warthogs were positioned in a screen in front of the tanks to provide infantry and armour support. The troops took up positions in trenches carved by “trench builders”, although usually used in urban situations the builders created a network of effective trenches for easy troop movements. The majority of troops remained behind the tank line to startle the enemy. The Pelicans were refuelled and the Chief declared the preparations complete. The Spartans themselves took up positions among the troops to lead them and the standard over the top into battle.

There the army waited for two days in the heat. The cry was finally given by Spartan 66 that there was movement on the horizon. Troops prepared themselves for battle. The dust now swirled angrily in the distance; slowly silhouettes emerged from the dancing sand. The enemy had arrived. It began to deploy on the dunes opposite. The distance before the two armies was great. Neither side wanted to make the first move. Suddenly a shout was given from the rear: Roudland is here!

Roudlands arrival

Roudland had come. Behind the Super Roman line a multitude of Cobra dropships appeared, alongside Typhoon fighters. The Roudland forces approached rapidly, morale began to rise unchecked. Realising the imminent threat Caesar III army marched forward on the Super Roman line. The Master Chief gave the signal.

Thirty Pelicans rose sharply into the air, followed by over 100 Longsword craft. The jets screamed overhead the dunes, wind swept canards provided excellent manoeuvrability. A multitude of black spots in the distance stormed over the enemy dune. RomNet estimated 150 Ikarus Jets were inbound, coupled with Caisus bombers.

Both air fleets fired their initial salvo of missiles. The Super Roman Templar missiles were easily distinguishable by their blue tinge. The missiles struck, immediately 30 craft were lost in the onslaught. 17 Longsword craft were downed with 13 Ikarus jets. The sound of after-burner and exhaust continued with vigour. It was in this confusion the Roudland army arrived and deployed its troops. Roudland fighters screamed over the Super Roman Defensive line to aid the Longsword craft already engaged in battle.

The Roudland Forces took up further defensive positions along the dune. While the Spearman 2 4th armoured brigade accompanied the Dark Shock troopers to the forward command post.

The Pelicans had been laying in wait, hovering behind the Super Roman dune for their opportunity. The enemy war horn sounded and dust once again swirled angrily, reflecting the balls of flame erupting in the air above. 14 further Longsword craft were lost along with 6 Roudland Typhoon fighters. 22 Ikarus Jets were however confirmed DIA (destroyed in action). The enemy armour battalions approached accompanying the first legion of troops. The Chief gave the signal to open fire. Immediately all Scorpion and Roudland tanks opened up, sending a blanket of shells towards the enemy. The dune thundered and shuddered as the force ripped apart the very sand the tanks were housed in. It was at this point the Pelicans began their first attack run. Modified Templar Missiles, designed to explode on impact, were launched from the bomb pods. A carpet of fire consumed the entire first legion. Streaks of fire rained down from the tank positions. The enemy first line was decimated in one assault. Losses were however still being incurred in the air: 14 further Longsword craft were lost and 8 Roudland fighters were confirmed DIA. However 24 Ikarus Jets were confirmed DIA also.

The Second Phase

The second phase of the battle now took place. This was the major land engagement. The Pelican dropships had exhausted their tiny payload and had retuned to the airstrip. The second legion of troops and the second tank battalion rolled over the enemy hill. The Chief again signalled the attack. However tank shells were no longer sufficient to dispose of the enemy. The Super Roman marines braced themselves for battle. The SPNKR shells flew at locked vehicles, sending a cascade of golden rain into the dust behind. The Caesar tanks rolled into position and opened fire. Cracks of lightening flashed over the battlefield. The entrenched tanks came under heavy bombardment. Enemy bombers now approached the rear of the Super Roman camp, near the airstrip. All Pelicans were immediately scrambled into the air. The third legion poured over the enemy dune. It was here that the reserve Super Roman marines and Roudland troops were deployed over the allied ridge. Across the battlefield, tracer, Gauss, SPNKR, sniper and rifle fire picked holes in the sandstorm now in progress. Visibility was extremely limited. Scorpions linked to the RomNet network had to relay enemy positions to Roudland vehicles so that allies were not hit.

On the ground fighting was intense. Spartan led contingents held key entry points to the bunkers. Battle rifle fire and Assault rifle fire were constant, as where the streams of gauss and Minigun pelting past their heads. The battlefield was littered with plane and vehicle wreckage. RomNet also now indicated that the forth legion of Julius Caesar’s army was now approaching. Roudland troops continued to bolster the Super Roman line; their G36K rifles were particularly potent at dispatching enemy infantry. Rounds now littered the trenches and the wounded were taken back to the Command Post. The Chief gave the signal to the Roudland general to prepare the cavalry for a charge. The Scorpion reserve joined the Roudland vehicles and prepared for the charge. The Chief was about to relay the signal for a full charge when all went silent. The dust lifted and the slow thudding of bombers seemed to dissipate. Instead a low rumbling could be heard overhead. The battlefield became visible. Plane and tank wreckage scarred the desert. Thousands of infantry littered the battlefield. Below the command post the battle raged on. Gauss rounds were launched and rifles were fired. The enemy was still advancing, with the fifth legion advancing over the dune. However an eerie thudding remained. Look! Cried Lt Johnson, the cavalry has arrived!

Super Rome Fights back

Above, the three Super Roman dreadnoughts, the Antilles, the Avatar and the Insuperable descended from high orbit. Their fusion reactor engines thrust the swirling sand away. The three vessels dwarfed the battlefield, their MAC guns clearly visible. Each had its landing struts extended. The Fleet was preparing to land. The Caesar army began a full tactical retreat. The remnant of the third and forth legions ran back to the enemy front line. The whole enemy army then retreated further away towards Julius Caesar homeland. Lt Johnson shouted over the intercom system “That’s right you mothers: run!” However much unknown to him the Chief had spotted further reinforcements approaching from Julius Caesar attempting to bolster the retreating enemy. This included 2 fresh legions and another tank battalion.

Thus far 62 of the Super Roman Longsword craft were lost, 25 Roudland fighters were confirmed DIA, however all but 3 Caesar Ikarus Jets had been destroyed and all bombers had been neutralised. Super Roman losses stood at 14 Scorpion vehicles, 27 Warthogs and a total KIA infantry of 769. Roudland forces had suffered the loss of 7 Spearman tanks and 344 infantry were confirmed KIA.

The Insuperable, Avatar and Antilles landed in the middle of the battlefield. Their massive structures drowned all light from around them. From the landing bays burst 80 Longsword craft joining the remaining 40 still in operation. The fighters soared overhead, protecting the dreadnoughts. The Roudland fighters, low on fuel and ammo landed in the Super Roman vessels for supplies. All wounded and prisoners were taken aboard the Avatar. 2000 fresh marines were offloaded as well as 40 Scorpion tanks and 60 Warthog and Gauss hog variants. The troops marched to the allied dune for assignment and the latest battlefield RomNet readouts. The Roudland forces were re-supplied and catered for. The troops, although not yet victorious were in high spirits: the enemy was in retreat, the Spartans could be seen making preparations, Dark Shock by their side and the giant vessels of the Super Roman fleet stood between them and the enemy. Unknown to them however was the fact that the Caesar army had regrouped. Their army was re-supplied and reinforced. Their army now stood once again at 9000 troops and three battalions of tanks. More Ikarus fighters were inbound alongside over 100 bombers.

The Super Roman army now stood with over 5500 troops, bolstered by 1750 Roudland infantry. 350 Mark II and III Scorpions remained alongside 190 remaining Spearman II Roudland armoured vehicles. Just as the battle formation began to take shape the Ikarus fighters and bombers arrived. Immediately the 120 Longsword ships were launched. 40 Roudland Typhoons were also scrambled. The launch bays aboard the Super Roman dreadnoughts were sealed. The engines roared into life. Dust swirled once more over the sandy plains. The immense landing struts were retracted and the ships climbed into the air. It was at this moment the enemy closed in.

The Ikarus jets swarmed the dreadnoughts and flew close to bombers, protecting them from any ground fire and lock by the Longsword craft. The Longsword and Typhoon jets engaged the enemy. Once more darts streamed across the sky. The bombers attack vectors were the dreadnoughts. They emptied payload after payload onto the tritanium armour. Once safely into the air, the dreadnoughts returned fire. The Heavy Gauss cannons were unfurled and the Templar missile pods opened. Mushrooms of fire emanated from within the sea of jets. Heavy Gauss now joined Templar missiles and machinegun fire. SPNKR launchers were handed to the troops, now SPNKR shells homed in on unlucky targets. There was utter chaos in the air. Longsword, Typhoon and Ikarus fighters strafed the boughs of the dreadnoughts. The Avatar launched its heavy Templar missiles into the fray. Tails of purple light followed the warheads to their intended target. The missiles were often outmanoeuvred by the nimble jets, but not the bombers. The Antilles was sustaining heavy damage to its bridge. The Avatar moved to provide covering fire. The faster Typhoon jets of Roudland proved invaluable in destroying enemy bombers, while the Longsword crafts superior manoeuvrability allowed decimation of the enemies Ikarus fighters. However two waves of fighters approached. The Chief however did not need to fear. Despite the second wave of Ikarus jets inbound, he recognised that the latter wave approached from the North West.

An Alien War

10 Friendly Aliens Orion carriers were confirmed inbound supported by 20 Sundance Corvettes. Their ARC weaponry quickly decimated the remaining Ikarus fighters while the Corvettes, combined with heavy Gauss made light work of the remaining enemy bombers. Longsword and Typhoon jets had spent all ordinances. Only SPNKR fire, heavy Gauss fire and miniguns remained. Streaks of yellow blazoned across the sky entwining with the Purple glow of pursuing Templar heavy missiles. Squadrons of craft now dominated the skies. ARC rounds continued to pound the enemy air command effectively ending the main dogfight, only ground SPNKR fire remained. The Ikarus jets turned tail and headed deep into enemy territory. Longsword craft and Typhoon fighters suffered huge losses and were in a desperate need of repair. Many could not return to the Titans and instead were granted support from the Orion carriers. Sundance Corvettes continued to patrol the skies along with deployed Alien aircraft.

The ground forces, taking their cue advanced towards the previously enemy occupied sand dune. Similar defensive positions were sought within the dunes. The dreadnoughts once again extended their landing struts and thudded into the ground. From within the boughs of each ship emerged a single prototype RAY mechanised walker. The beasts stood at over 40 metres tall. A Spartan then occupied each dinosaur-sculpted machine. Their tactical neural interfaces flared into life. Each one mobilised and began to advance towards the allied defensive position. Their pounding legs caused dents in the sand as they moved. The Master Chief, eager to test the prototypes capabilities ordered the lead Spartan out of the vehicle and commandeered the machine. At this point the three dreadnoughts returned to orbit for repair and re-supply. The allied line complete with 3 RAY walkers now awaited the last advance of the enemy.

Trails of smoke remained in the sky after the Ikarus jets fled. The huge plumes expanded in the atmosphere blocking out the sun. The remaining Longsword craft, now exhausted of ordinance returned to the landing strips, as did the Roudland fighters. Only the Alien aircraft remained in the air. However 7 Carry-All transporters descended onto the battlefield. From within their structure burst forth contingents of Super Mutants. It was clear that the Friendly Aliens military had ensured that all of its special forces were well equipped, they broght Heavy Mortars and Sabot Launchers aswell as their normal weapons to assist when defence. The Friendly Aliens strike force met with the Spartan commanders, unsure of the loyalty of alien Roudland troops. This was the first full scale battle the two sides had fought alongside each other. The Spartans, who had worked with Friendly Aliens on several occasions, coordinated the defence among strange glances from the Roudland officials present. The full plate armour grafted to the skin of the Friendly Aliens Radiantss unnerved many Roudland soldiers.

The Julian Advance

The enemy, as observed by RomNet advanced slowly. Troops made up the front lines with armour complementing them in flanking positions. RomNet estimated that around 600 tanks approached. The terrain of the new battlefield provided the defenders with an absolute advantage. The dune that was occupied by the Super Roman, Alien and Roudland forces and was the only high ground for several miles. Once again Spartan 66 raised the shout; the enemy had arrived.

The sky was blood red; a rosy haze surrounded both the enemy and the allied armies. This battle would have to be won quickly if it was preferred not to take place at night. The enemy now came clearly into view. The Roudland Spearman tanks took up flanking positions either side of the dune. The Scorpions occupied positions under and on top of the dune. The troops sat tight in the trenches, except those occupying Warthogs in the perimeter defence network. Alien forces still unnerved by Roudland had taken up position firmly in the Super Roman flank. The thudding of feet drowned the allied forces into a deep silence. The enemy advanced a mile from the allied line. The Scorpions attacked first and launched a barrage of tracer shells; several sped into the middle of the enemy’s front line. Men were sent skywards and many were caught alight with the sheer power of the shell. The enemies war horn sounded once more and the front lines advanced quickly.

Immediately battle rifle rounds piled into the enemy front line from the trench positions, followed by the G36K assault rifles of the Roudland troops. The miniguns and Gauss hogs opened fire simultaneously. SPNKR and Alien heavy mortar rounds sped into dense clumps of troops, leaving only craters. The Scorpions also opened fire and shells cracked across the battlefield. The enemy tanks opened fire also, sending a barrage of shells into the allied trenches. It was here that the Master Chief sprang his trap. The three RAY walkers roared into life. The enemy front lines halted their advance. An eerie silence covered the battlefield. The Master Chief signalled to his Spartans to advance. The Master Chief then launched his machine into the fray. RAY jumped from the top of the dune in front of the allied line. Dust swirled angrily from where the machine had landed. The signal was then given to the Roudland flanking Spearman tanks to advance. This was swiftly followed by the Super Roman war horn signifying an all out charge. The RAY walkers raged forward. Their Templar missile pods were opened. The Roudland Spearman tanks, the only armour on the battlefield able to keep up with RAY pounded the enemy lines with shells. The enemy front lines retreated to the rest of the army. Enemy rocket fire now streamed at the RAY walkers and Roudland vehicles. The RAY armour emitting electromagnetic pulses prevented the enemy from locking on with anti tank weaponry. The enemy were firing blind. From orbit an electromagnetic scrambler was launched from the Avatar. The device landed in the centre of the enemy’s primary defence. Their communications were now useless. The enemy had now only the choice to stand and fight.

The Allied Advance

The allied line now advanced. Spartans wielding a variety of weapons from SPNKR to Assault rifles, depending on their tastes led the troops into battle. The Roudland troops also followed the Spartans, emitting the loudest war cries. The Dark Shock and accompanying Super Mutants however linked up with Spartans 233-257 and prepared for a daring flanking manoeuvre. The Pelicans were ordered to assist.

The front lines now reached the stationary RAY machines and swarmed underneath them towards the enemy line. The dust storm was immense and clouded everything. RAY launched its Templar missiles upon the enemy armour and the Spearman tanks opened fire on the main HQ. The Scorpions, having arrived from the dune now formed a battle line parallel to RAY. Shells were exchanged between the two sides. The night now closed in making visibility a problem. Only the orange rifle fire and the glowing SPNKR launch tubes could easily be seen.

The two front lines were now only 50 metres apart. RAY opened fire with its MMAC gun upon the enemy positions. The Spartans took this as their cue to advance. The Spartans came crashing into the front lines. The morale of the enemy quickly dissipated. The vanguard contingents brought up the warthogs from the rear and smashed into the enemy’s front lines, picking up the, by now, stranded Spartans. 17 Spartans were lost in the charge, but the loss of morale was devastating for the enemy. Panic gripped the troops and friendly fire increased. Pelican dropships soared overhead. One erupted into golden flame and smashed into the ground as enemy rocket fire brought it down. However the surviving Pelicans landed behind the enemy battle line. Dark Shock, Super Mutants and Spartans burst forth, opening fire with SPNKR launchers, firing into the densest groupings of men. Once all ordinances had been expelled, the survivors took cover behind the Pelicans and covered the allied positions. Spartan 66, who had joined the insertion force. Unbuckled the Gauss Hogs from within the Pelican hold and formed an effective perimeter defence around the drop zone.

The Caesar army was however for the most part intact. It had suffered large armour losses as most allied fire had been directed that way. RomNet estimated that 5000 troops still remained with 140 tanks still operational. The Super Roman line, with the returned Spartans now sheltering behind the Scorpions, provided heavy covering fire. The Scorpions now edged forward to catch the Spearman Tanks now circling the right flank, pounding the enemy headquarters. The Chief once again took the initiative and marched his RAY and ordered his companion RAY walkers to do the same, into the enemy line. The Chiefs RAY took heavy fire, several rockets piled into the torso of the beast. Its electromagnetic shielding was knocked offline. Only when the other RAY machines accompanied the chief was his walker’s safe. Templar Pods now exhausted and with his MAC damaged by the rocket hits the chief now resorted to using the beasts tail to sweep the enemy before him. The glowing white eyes of the RAY were now the clearest sources of light on the battlefield. Only the immense silhouettes could be seen. Night vision goggles were put in operation. Tracer fire streamed into the enemy lines. RomNet provided accurate readouts to the Spearman and Scorpion tanks regarding enemy positions. In the distance the enemy gave a huge shout.

The Chief withdrew his RAY from the battle after receiving further hits to the armour. He retreated to the allied dune and dismounted. The remaining RAY units continued to antagonise the enemy. The chief surveyed the battlefield. Plumes of fire erupted all over the battlefield, both on the allied and enemy lines. The Spearman and Scorpion vehicles were easily distinguishable by the cracks of light emitted by their turrets. Tracer fire and the continual rattling of metal rifles filled the air. Every so often, one of the few remaining SPNKR shells zoomed into the air, homing in on its panic stricken victim. The Chief was astonished to see that the insertion forces were now driving the enemy towards the front lines. The Spartans, Mutants and Dark Shock were forcing the enemy into a bottleneck. The chief immediately ordered a ceasefire from the Scorpions and Spearman. He wired the Space Fleet.

The enemy, now perplexed by the ceasefire, began to regain their confidence. They formed tight formations and regrouped all their armour amongst the troops to provide effective cover against the allied troops. The insertion force stopped pursuing the enemy and returned to the Pelican drop zone. The Roudland soldiers, eager to fight were baffled by the Super Roman ceasefire and urged them to continue the battle. This sort of pacifism was thought as suicidal. The allied line however remained quiet. The Super Roman forces then ordered the Roudland and Alien militaries to complete a full stand down and to brace for impact.

Deep Impact

From the sky came a rushing sound followed by streaks of purple light, slowly approaching the Alliance surface. The enemy realised too late however that the missiles were inbound. Sirens were sounded and the tight positions adopted by the enemy were broken up. However the Templar missiles continued to stream towards the enemy. The chief watched from the dune as the purple warheads silently thudded into the densely packed enemy lines. Clouds of dust rose into the air once more, blocking out the moonlight and the stars. The immense sound now surrounded the chief and the cloud stormed towards his position. The cloud consumed him and he left the battlefield.

Once the dust cleared, the allied front lines, still experiencing shock opened fire once more. Synchronised rounds were fired into the enemy; the terrain now littered with craters provided allied troops valuable cover positions deep within enemy territory. The Scorpions and Spearman tanks now sounded the full advance. The two operational RAY now returned to the battle after sheltering near the insertion force. The Jenova streamed overhead and pounded the enemy lines. Super Mutants took the initiative and began intimidating and confusing the enemy lines. Warthogs now streamed en masse into the enemy lines sending many man flying off the front. The enemy was in disarray. The full retreat horn was sounded. The allies pressed home their advantage. All Roudland and Super Roman troops ran from cover and pursued the enemy. Battle rifle, Assault riles and sniper fire terrorised the Caesar forces. Once again however the Super Roman forces halted the pursuit prematurely. Cortana aboard the Avatar had launched the last salvo of Templar missiles upon the enemy. These streamed towards the retreating enemy, homing in on their collective heat signatures. The missiles thudded into the ground, the screams of the enemy pierced the night. The last remaining missiles poured into the atmosphere against the missile sites on the border. The huge cheer of the allies was thrown into the night. Lt Johnson’s voice could once again be heard over the intercom: “My momma wouldn’t run like that!”

Victory

The victory had come at a price. Of the 6500 Super Roman marines deployed 2700 were confirmed KIA. Of the Roudland 2000 troops 935 lost their lives. 22 Spartans were lost alongside 47 Dark Shock troopers. 156 Spearman tanks remained out of the 210 deployed. 297 Scorpion tanks were operational out of the 375 issued to the battle. 6 Sundance Corvettes, a handful of Banshee and Jenovas were lost and two of the Orion carriers were severely damaged. 5 Radiants were confirmed KIA with 7 of the other deployed Super Mutants; their final charge had claimed many of their lives.

At the time of the battle, it contained the highest number of Roudland casualties in a single since the Great Alliance War. Since then, the mantle has passed to the first day of the 3rd Moronyickan War, and then to the first day of ground combat in the Southern Gulf War. It should be noted that after this incident, Roudland has not deployed alongside Super Roman forces as several Roudland Army Generals expressed concern over the deployment of Roudland military equipment and personnel during the battle itself.

Enemy losses stood at 8500 with over 500 captured and with a further 500 in retreat. Over 300 Ikarus jets were downed at the expense of 130 Longsword and 40 Typhoon fighters and over 150 bombers were destroyed. 13 Pelicans were also confirmed DIA.

After this battle Julius Caesar came under diplomatic fire from all regions within the alliance. Imperator Letton ordered an advance into Caesarian territory, and after a few weeks of fighting, Super Rome annexed the nation.
