The Bedistan Premier League, 2082 season once again saw Alexandria enter as the defending champions, ready for another title.

Replacing the three relegated teams from last season were Dawson Springs FC, RKA Warriors, and Justus Loons. Dawson Springs and Justus had been there before, but Warriors were in the highest Bedistani league for the first time.

Spring semester

South Coast United were the dominant team throughout the spring semester, joined by San Solari FC in week seven. Between them, they stayed at the top of the table pretty much the whole time, though Bucks Lake Athletic started to come on strong near the end of the semester, closing it out just three points behind San Solari and five behind South Coast. The spring semester wasn't quite so bright for 2080 champions Floral FC, though, who found themselves with a losing record in 14th place after week fourteen. They finally recovered a bit, finishing the semester with a 4-1-0 run to bounce back to fifth place. Dionte, RKA Warriors, and Jamaica made up the relegation slots at the end of the semester.

Bedistani Cup

Early rounds

Sokojiwa and Justus met in the first round, and Sokojiwa advanced with a 1-0 win; in the same round, Yuba United dealt non-league side Old Town Eufaula a solid eight-nil thrashing. Round two saw no fewer than four all-BPL matchups: Bucks Lake took care of RKA Warriors three-nil, while Floral suffered another disappointing loss to Dawson Springs to be eliminated. Jervis FC fought hard for a 3-2 extra-time win over Esto, and Dionte lost to Sokojiwa. Despite having a highly successful spring semester in the league, South Coast couldn't handle Dennis in the third round of the Cup, losing 3-2. Sokojiwa faced BPL opposition yet again in the form of San Solari, the other dominant team of the spring semester, but again Sokojiwa advanced at their expense. Bucks Lake beat out Jervis in extra time, and Carter FC became the first Premier League club to be eliminated by a side from a lower division, namely BFL First Division team Charleston FC, leaving just eleven of the twenty BPL teams to advance to the fourth round.

Round 4

Rolestu and Bucks Lake met in the fourth round at Stadium X in a hotly-contested match that remained tied at one after 120 minutes, sending it to a penalty shootout, where Rolestu finally came through with a 7-6 advantage to continue to the fifth round. Meanwhile, Sokojiwa must've thought they were still in league play rather than the Cup as they faced yet another Premier League opponent. And like all those that faced them before, Dennis also fell, the scoreline 2-1 in favor of Jiwa.

Round 5

Alexandria finally faced credible opposition for the first time in New Haverford Albion, and Albion couldn't hold out, losing 2-1. San Diego embarrassed themselves with a loss to First Division Washington, while Yuba United finally fell to Griffin in a highly defensive contest ending 1-0 in the Zebras' favor. Sokojiwa finally got a break from having to face BPL teams, defeating Afton FC 1-0.

Quarterfinals

Two First Division teams snuck into the quarterfinals – Washington and Brookdale – but neither would pass to the semis, as the former lost to Dawson Springs 3-2 and the latter got trounced by Rolestu four-nil. Sokojiwa's great run came to an abrupt end with a 4-1 loss to Alexandria, and Griffin had no problems taking care of the hapless Jamaica.

  • Dawson Springs FC 3-2 Washington Tigers
  • Sokojiwa City FC 1-4 Alexandria Porcupines
  • Jamaica Giants 1-3 Griffin Zebras
  • Rolestu FC 4-0 Brookdale Rovers

Semifinals

This season's crop of semifinalists seemed more likely than the bunch who made it here in 2081. Alexandria defeated Dawson Springs as expected, but Rolestu's loss to Griffin wasn't quite so foreseen and is generally attributed to the crowd.

  • Dawson Springs FC 1-3 Alexandria Porcupines
  • Griffin Zebras 2-1 Rolestu FC

Final

This year's Cup final seemed very similar to last year's, at least in that both teams seemed to be playing with wild abandon, making for a very energetic and high-scoring match. The scoreline ended up the same as last time, 4-3, though this time it didn't require extra time, Alexandria taking the win in ninety minutes.

  • Alexandria Porcupines 4-3 Griffin Zebras

Fall semester

The top two didn't budge for a very long time, but South Coast's three-nil week 33 loss to Rolestu allowed San Solari to slip past into the lead after defeating Floral 1-0. They traded positions again three weeks later, South Coast hanging onto the lead by goal difference with two left to play. Both South Coast and San Solari won their week 37 matches, meaning everything came down to the final day. South Coast had the easier task, facing already confirmed last-place Jamaica away, while San Solari also traveled to face 15th-placed Yuba United. The South Coast-Jamaica match came first, and South Coast suffered an unfortunate bout of nerves and were only able to manage a 1-1 draw. This, of course, meant that all San Solari needed to do was defeat Yuba United to take the title. But United defender Kansu Kynsu made all the right moves and completely prevented San Solari from touching their goal – they didn't score in return either, but that didn't matter, as the 0-0 draw kept San Solari in second place and gave South Coast United their first ever Bedistan Premier League title.

For the most part, the relegation battle wasn't all that exciting, unfortunately. Jamaica confirmed that they were going down with five weeks to spare, sixteen points behind Dionte at 3-6-24. RKA Warriors all but confirmed it on matchday 36, six points adrift of Dionte and trailing them by 17 units of goal difference. The only question was who would be unfortunate enough to get the final relegation spot: Dionte or Justus. A crucial 1-0 win over Dawson Springs gave Justus a one-point advantage going into the final matchday after Dionte was unfortunate enough to play South Coast, losing three-nil. Dionte pulled off an even bigger upset the following week, toppling Griffin two-nil, but it wasn't enough as Justus faced RKA Warriors at home and also won to maintain their one-point advantage and their Premier League status, sending Dionte down to the First Division.
