Benarca
Benarca is an ancient city, originally founded by settlers from another colony, which has since imploded on itself and as such no longer exits. Their leader, Royal Regent Ben Arcan laid the first stones for the new dwellings.
The city's population currently numbers 47.6 million, although there are plans to build a new administrative capital in the hills to the west of the city, due to the lack of expansion space remaining.
Central Benarca is a city of contrasts, with old colonial buildings adjacent to modern architecture and sophisticated city dwellers mingling with incomers from the countryside. It is also houses the Museum of Votsinaname History, located on Denuind Boulevard, which contains the founding stones of the city.
The northern part of Benarca is prosperous with the usual tall office blocks found in most modern cities, the southern, part of the city is mainly industrial zones ranging from Steel Works to Modern Technology Firms, with adequate housing interspersed between them.
The city centre is built on a grid plan, with the main commercial district (known locally as The Silver Cross) houses most of the large multinational companies, including banks. The development of the area has occurred so fast that the authorities have been unable to keep pace. Traffic during rush hours is very heavy, which means that poor air quality and smog is a regular feature of life.
