Black Crusade

The First Black Crusade was an attempt by Chronosia to wage a vast and protracted war against the forces of Order. Calling all nations who would swear allegience to the Dark Gods of Chaos to his side; the Emperor, Marcus De Drakan, planned to unleash hell on all who would oppose his plans, and the spread of Chaos. The first target was the home system of Azaha. The opening shots of the war belonged to Chronosia; following the slaughter of a Grey Knights Inquisitor team in the Warp and the DGNT erradication of a farming world using the 'Dessicator'.

The Chronosian led fleet advanced on Azaha led by the Emperor of Chronosia himself; onboard his flagship, the Ecstacy of Slaanesh he gave his twofold orders. Firstly the Ordo Malleus; the bane of Daemons, must be eradicated; their entire planet scourged of life. This task was entrusted to Remiel De Drakan; the Emperor's Chosen Son and Primarch of the Angelus Ater. The Emperor took leadership of the second objective; the retrieval of tablets nessecary for finding the true location of the 'Black Library' an ancient and forbidden library of the ancient Eldar race. With the dark power and knowledge there contained; Marcus would be able to take his place as true ruler of Chaos; and unleash his black armies against any and all who opposed him.

Despite attacks from other nations, determined to save Azaha from its fate; the Ecstacy eventually found itself in range of Azaha Prime, just as the tablets were retrieved. In a great act of tyranny and arrogance; the Emperor unleashed the Ecstacy's mighty Warp Cannons against the planet; watching as the earth cracked and tore asunder, as the seas boiled and the atmosphere burned.

On Azaha VI, facing the Ordo Malleus; Remiel continued to fight bravely alongside his Uruks and Space Marines, bringing death to his enemies alongside their allies; he drove forward, eventually finding himself inside the Fortress of the Grey Knights. The Grey Knights fought long and hard. It had taken several months for the Chonosian marines to break through the last of the Grey Knights, and confront the powerful Archon Lash, high inquisitor to the Ordo Malleus. A battle ensued between Remiel De Draken and Archon lash. Lash let his full control of the wap be unleashed, that being his downfall. Being so close to the warp during the fight slowly corrupted him, until finally Remiel De Draken was able to convert Archon Lash, thus ending the conflict upon Azaha IV. Lastly in the fortress, where he defeated and tortured an uncorrupted Chronosian Inquisitor who had sought to aid the Grey Knights.

The next target of the Crusade was the nation of Yafor 2. The reason they had been selected for extermination was the intervention of one Yaforite captain in the battle of Azaha.

The commander of this operation was a Dooman High Praetor called Skorm. Upon his mighty flagship, the Defiler, he commanded a fleet numbering 600 ships and an army numbering several million. The Yaforites had holed up on the fortress world of Vadron, and there they made their stand. The Yaforites relied on their fast maneuverable Black Myrmadions, which dealt blow after crippling blow to the Dooman fleet. However, one of the Defiler's main weapons, a rapid fire torpedo system, evened the odds, allowing for the Doomans to stave off defeat.

When the Yaforites attempted to bring their other vessels closer to the Dooman fleet, they were met by a swarm of boarding pods, which forced the pilots of those vessels to eject.

The first half of the battle ended in victory for the Doomans.

Afterwards, a massive beam weapon mounted on Vadron fired on the Defiler, crippling her. The Defiler responded with a hail of nuclear torpedoes, which literaly blew 3/4ths of the planet clean off, leaving only the heavily shielded base standing. Once again, the Yaforites returned with more ships, and once again they were repelled. Finally, the Yaforites sued for peace, and were allowed to evacuate 60% of the population of the system. The rest were converted by the Doomans, and later served in the Battle of Kamino. All of the Yaforite converts were slain in that battle.
