Boa Vista, formally called the Commonwealth of Boa Vista, is a Liberal Democratic nation. The nation posesses a Presidential system of government, with a long and uninterrupted tradition of Democracy.

Name

The formal name of the nation is the Commonwealth of Boa Vista. It is often referred by outsiders as Boa Vista. Local citizens simply refer to the nation as "The Commonwealth"

Population

The nation posesses a population of 2.367 billion people

Government

As mentioned earlier, Boa Vista has a Presidential system of government. The official style of the President of Boa Vista is:

"President of the Commonwealth of Boa Vista and its overseas posessions, Executive Admiral of the Commonwealth Armed Forces"

Under law, a Vice President and an Assistant President is chosen along with the President in the General Election. The official styles of the Vice Presidents are as follows:

"Vice President of the Commonwealth of Boa Vista and its overseas posessions, Speaker of the Commonwealth Chamber of Deputies"

"Assistant President of the Commonwealth of Boa Vista and its overseas posessions, Presiding Officer of the Commonwealth Chamber of Councillors"

The current President of Boa Vista is Antonio Carmona. The Vice President is Maria Celeste Durao. The Assistant President of Boa Vista is Julia Fonseca.

The Commonwealth Parliament consists of two chambers: Chamber of Councillors (lower house) and Chamber of Deputies (Upper House).

The lower house, with 500 seats, consists entirely of elected members and is responsible for passing legislations and budgets. The upper house, consisting of 100 members appointed by provincial governments, is responsible for advising the President on policy matters.
