Although in the C&C RA storyline, the European Theater of World War 2 did not take place, it is implied that the East-Asian Theater was not affected (the Arizona Memorial and Iwo Jim Memorial can be seen in-game.). Thus, the Pacific War could still have taken place.

OOC Background

This is written in primarily in an in-universe style and might requiore knowledge of the Command &Conquer series to understand.

In RA2, the presence of the Iwo Jima Memorial and Arizona Memorial in the missions indicate that the Pacific War took place despite the fact that the European scenario was quite different. Since instead of World War 2, there was a war between the Soviets and the Allies (Red Alert), it is unlikely the Soviets would have joined in in a war against the Japanese in China if the Japanese were fighting the Americans and the Americans were on their own, being occupied with the war with the Soviets. However, apparently, the Japanese were defeated. In RA2, China is clearly marked as blue (allied nation) (and, along with Alaska, the last territory to be captured by the Soviets), so either the Kumointang (Nationalist China) won the Chinese Civil War, some event in RA changed the alignment of the Chinese, or the Chinese Communist Party would rather align with the Allies than the Soviets due to the Sino-Soviet Split of (the game takes place in the 70's). However, the absence of the Chinese as the Asian allied nation (instead, there is Korea, which has the flag and territory of South Korea, but is simply called Korea, which could indicate the absence of North Korea) could indicate a low military and economic power of the Chinese compared to the Asian "tiger" nations, which is pretty much like real-world 70's China. For this I choose the option of the Republic of China (Kuomintang) winning the Chinese Civil War. With the Soviets marching into Europe during what in our world was World War 2, and the Japanese taking up the chance of launching an attack against the USA, which were occupied with the war against the Soviets, to instate themselves as the predominant power in the Pacific, it was unlikely the Soviets counteracted the Japanese expansion, which put additional pressure on the US, and perhaps even supported them. Thus, without Soviet intervention in China, the Kuomintang, after the war with support from the US, who tried to further anti-communist nations, won the Chinese Civil War. Japan, having been defeated, and the rest of East Asia, were tied to the Allies.
