The CFS Utah (BBGN-70) is the first of California's newest heavy battleships in the California Class, sporting new changes made to the series after it was determined by the Californian Navy's Design Bureau. After making the decision to make the new Type-3, a construction began and the keel was laid in 2256. With the ship being finished BBGN-70 was commissioned to the Californian Federation Navy as the Utah on July 7, 2258. After sea trials the ship was put into service on January 21, 2259.
Currently, the Utah is the only vessel in its type classfication as a Type-3 of the California Class.
