Project CWPURPLE

CWPURPLE or CW103 "Purple Haze" is a halucenogenic aerosol developed by the military of Northern Congo. It was named after the drug described in the song of the same name.

CWPURPLE Effects

The effects of CWPURPLE on human beings is similar to that of LSD, causing hallucinations and synaesthesia. It was designed to give its victims a "bad trip," a condition that can be worsened by the environment. When subjects were exposed to CWPURPLE in simulated battle conditions, the results varied based on the subjects' personality. Some became psychotic, assaulting their fellow soldiers and attempting to kill them. Others collapsed on the ground, assumed the fetal position, and refused to move for several hours. The effectiveness of the fighting unit collapsed in a matter of minutes.

Methods of Delivery

CWPURPLE can be delivered by artillery shells, air dropped canisters, or hand held grenades. Dispensers have also been developed that can be placed in the ventilation systems of buildings or ships. Some dispensers have even been disguised as ordinary objects, such as smoke detectors, fire alarms and radios.
