Calaston

The Republic of Calaston was a massive, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its lush forests. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 1.62 billion were fiercely patriotic and enjoyed great social equality; they tended to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It was difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stopped and the rest of society began, but it juggled the competing demands of Social Equality, Healthcare, and Education. Citizens paid a flat income tax of 75%. A small private sector was led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Furniture Restoration and Woodchip production. Crime -- especially youth-related -- was totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Calaston's national animal was the Tree Frog, which froliced freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency was the Chorron.

The War of Calaston

Calaston was only a part of history for a short time. It was the daughter nation of Dhatsun, and ran by Lord Alfred Onsei, brother to the CEO of Dhatsun. Unfortunately, Calaston quickly garnered enemies, joining with external forces plotting to overthrow the region. This culminated in a terrible war betweem Calaston and Dhatsun, resulting in the complete destruction of Calaston. A final battle took place in the capital of Orrun, at the central palace, in which Charles Onsei himself ended the war by killing his brother in battle. The populace quickly turned at the loss of its leader. The surrender was unconditional, with the first clause of the surrender stating that upon signing, The state of Calaston no longer existed. The lands simply became part of Dhatsun. Despite inital hostility, the lands show little conflict.
