Calendar (Honor Guard)

The calendar of the Honor Planet records the three hundred and eighty-seven days orbit of the planet around the solar system’s sun. It was first devised by Narweighan astrologist and scientist Harken nal’Mich in the year 706CE.The calendar consists of three hundred and eighty-seven days (three hundred and ninety in a leap year) broken down into thirteen months or fifty-five weeks of seven days.

Since its introduction the calendar has undergone little change. It still records the same year and retains the same denominations of months and weeks. However, in the year 1PE the Chaos Era/Paxian Era division was accepted widely by the population of the planet. The pioneer of this division remains a mystery but records show that the term was first used in Qlestine.

Chaos Era/Paxian Era

The Chaos Era is the name collectively given to the years before the founding of the Collective at Pax City. It was a time when unity was a rare feature of Honor Planet culture and a time when nations fought for the lands of their neighbours. Although little has changed in the Paxian Era, the collective regards the Chaos Era as the most erratic time of Honor Planet history.

Following the creation of the Collective and the position of Premier on the Honor Planet and new air of peace and tranquillity fell upon the planet. This new dawn under guidance from Pax City has become known as the Paxian Era. It stands for a time of prosperity for the whole planet, a time when alliances, trade agreements and treaties have been written.

Every eight years, the calendar experiences a leap year. To account for the additional nine hours of the planet’s orbit, three days are added to the calendar. These three days are added to the months of Rashalue, Fieht and Bards.
