The Army of the Candrian Empire is one of the 4 major branches of the Candrian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, SPARTA), and the largest in terms of manpower. The primary role of the Candrian Army is general land based combat, with SPARTA undertaking special operations unfit for conventional forces.

The Army as a permanent structure grew directly from organised rebels in 1967, under the banner of the Candrian Liberation Army. Upon success of the rebellion, directives were issued forming the Army of Candiro, composed of professional soldiers within the ranks of the CLA.

Day to day operations of the Candrian Army are goverened by the Secretary of the Army, the highest civilian within the Department of Defense; while Army actions are goverened by the highest ranking career soldier, the Staff General, an appointed position ceremonially above the rank of General.

Force Structure

The Army Force Structure is primarily brigade-based - higher divisions are often far larger in the Candrian system than in most armies. An infantry brigade consists of some 10,000 infantrymen, not counting any logistical personell. Individual 'unit types' are divided at the Brigade level, and intermixed for force application at the Division level; for example four Infantry Brigades and an Armoured Cavalry Brigade consist of one Infantry Maneuver Division, a division charged with quick infantry mobility throughout the battlefield. Such a division would consist of regular infantry in the Infantry Brigades and Mobile Transport and Light Armoured Assault Battalions in the Armoured Brigade.

The primary types of Brigades are Infantry, Armoured Cavalry, Army Air Brigade, and Artillery Brigades. The table below details the current Force Structure of the Candrian Empire, although there is currently talk of expanding and revising this structure.
