The Carasian Orthodox Church is an Oriental Orthodox Church in the Confederated Peoples. It was part of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church until 1991 when it was granted its own Patriarch by Coptic Orthodox Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of All Africa Shenouda III. It was originally active only in the Principality of Carasia and had jurisdiction over a number of small Oriental Orthodox communities elsewhere in the Danaan High Kingdom as well. However, since the formation of the Confederated Peoples in its modern form, the Church has been in negotiations with smaller Oriental Orthodox Churches in full communion with Alexandria to unite into the Confederal Orthodox Tewahedo Church.

The Carasian Orthodox Church has roughly 41 million members. This is out of a total of 50 million Oriental Orthodox in the Confederated Peoples. Most other Oriental Orthodox belong to local churches under the jurisdiction of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tawahedo Church, the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, the Armenian Apostolic Church of All Armenians or the Indian Orthodox Church.
