Frisbeeteria: In an effort to clean up the Nations Category, I'd like to ask all nations who have created sub-categories (SubCats) in Nation name to remove from their subcat.

The principle namespace in this wiki is the Nations category, as anyone using an Infobox is automatically added to it. By posting SubCats in Nations, the actual nations are pushed far down the page. While this gives prime space to those of you who have spent long hours updating this wiki, it sorta defeats the purpose to highlight "featured nations" just by virtue of having a Subcat.

I propose arriving at a consensus here, then hopefully having the SubCat owner themselves move their category to :Roleplaying or :Gameplaying, or perhaps just removing the Category: statement altogether. Any that are left would be re-catergorized or de-categorized by Admin at an agreed-upon time. -- Frisbeeteria 01:11, 8 Oct 2004 (GMT)

:I'd suggest removing the auto-categorization bit from the nation infobox, just adding it manually into new articles. This way Category:Nations would still be a list of nation articles, without the nasty doubles. -- Crimmer 01:20, 8 Oct 2004 (GMT)

Actually, ditch that. I support Frisb's idea, but instead of Roleplay/Gameplay categorization, place the subcategories in a separate category for them, like Category:Articles categorized by nation or Category:Nation subcategories. -- Crimmer 01:31, 8 Oct 2004 (GMT)

Suggestion: Create a new and limit it exclusively to subcategories named for nations, ie: . That way, it doesn't matter whether it's gameplay or roleplay or IRC - the nation decides what belongs. -- Frisbeeteria 06:32, 8 Oct 2004 (GMT)

That sounds like a sensible suggestion as it does not force the nation writer to choose upfront. The way they play might change over time. --Nevareion 11:59, 11 Dec 2004 (GMT)

Categorisation

Could we categorise the natins regions with alphabets than previous/next 200?

It's already alphabetically sorted, I'm not sure what you're asking. --Goobergunch|? 16:36, 5 August 2005 (GMT)
I think it would be better if we index nations for Espes. This page will only show the alphabets, and click on the alphabets to enter into the listof nations that begin with "E". --Espes 04:53, 7 April 2006 (GMT)

A question

Seeing as Ferretus has been deleted due to inactivity, how exactly does one move a page to another category? I was going to copy all of the text from the current page to another one, but I'd like some clarification. --Aerodotus 02:50, 3 Jul 2005 (GMT)

To place an article within a certain category, simple place, , at the bottom of the article. Nation articles with infoboxes are automatically classified under the nations category; to remove the article from this category you can simply remove the infobox. Expanding on what Rechze said, and to quote this category's description: "Use Historic Nations if the nation doesn't have a current page on NationStates"--Pengwiniah 16:15, 13 April 2007 (GMT)
