The Socialist Labour Party (SLP) has governed Celdonia, both as a majority goverment and in coalition with minority parties, since its historic landslide victory in the election immediately following the Aperin War.
As the Celdonian President is elected by members of the National Legislature each President, indeed all as the office was created by the SLP in the Abolition of The Monarchy Act (1922), has been a member of the party.
The current president is Michael McKay, a former Foreign Secretary, who was choosen by Cabinet Committee upon the death of President Tony Clinton.
