Chairman of the Republic

The Chairman of the Democratic People's Republic of Pochinco, and on a very rare occasion referred to as the "Prime Minister", is the Chairman of the State Council of the Democratic People's Republic of Pochinco and head of Central People's Government. The Chairman is formally approved by the National People's Congress upon the nomination of the Spiritual Leader. In practice, both the Spiritual Leader and the Chairman of the Republic are selected after high level negotiations within the People's Social Revolutionary Party. The Chairman is always a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the People's Social Revolutionary Party.

The Chairman is responsible for organizing and administering the Chinese civil bureaucracy. Significantly, the Premier does not have authority over the People's Socialist Army. In recent years, there has been a division of responsibilities between the Chairman and the Spiritual Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Pochinco in which the Chairman is responsible for the technical details of implementing government policy while the Spiritual Leader gathers the political support necessary for government policy.
