Following the Great Settlement, the Chalkyitsik initially settled around what is now Yittrium. The oldest surviving village is located north of there at the city of Fanigolium. From there, they expanded across the Northwestern Plain to as far away as present-day Rampart.

The Chalkyitsik nation unified itself with the Treaty of Tizli College of 1686, creating the Council of Chieftesses. For its role in unification, Tizli College became the de facto capital of this nation, an honor it holds to this day.

When the Brigolians landed in 1750, they set up a port at King Harbour.
