Religion

Christiana Terra has no State Religion. The separation of Church and State, or between civil and religious life, is held sacrosanct by the country's laws and rigorously observed by its people. Religious tolerance and religious freedom are a main tenet of Christiana Terra's Constitution and History. Any citizen can have the religion he or she wants, even if it means to have no religion at all.

Although this right is held in most sacred esteem, Christiana Terra is renowned for a fierce and passionate Christian populace, devoted to charity and religious observance. The Christian roots of the country are never forgotten and religious adherence and practice is on the rise, with most churches completely full at Sunday masses. In major Christian Holidays like Christmas or Easter, the whole Country stops en masse to celebrate and rejoice.

Most of Christiana Terra's population (98%) practice Christianity. Religious minorities include Islam (0,9%), Buddhism (0,6%), Judaism (0,3%] and others (0,2 %). Among Christianity, the main branch of believers adheres to Roman Catholicism (78%), the remaining are spread between Eastern Orthodoxy (17%) and Protestantism (5%). This distribution roughly represents the country's diverse and unique population - Latin (catholics), Greek (orthodox) and Northern European (protestants). Jews and Muslims are long time inmigrants, though there is a recent wave of native converts, especially to Buddhism due to a spread-out enthusiasm in Oriental culture.
