Ciò è la nostra casa (en:This is our home) is the national anthem of San Adriano. It was written and composed by Giulio Gattuso in 1643, specifically to be the national anthem. The original version was in Italian, but it was immediately given matching Wymgani lyrics by Sal'e Oshi. Both versions have official status.

Usage

The national anthem is played

  • whenever a foreign head of State or important representative comes to San Adriano for a State visit; the visitor's national anthem is then also played.
  • whenever the monarch returns to the country after a trip abroad of one week or more.
  • whenever the Sanadrianese national football team is playing.

The anthem is most often performed by a band from neighbouring Uhuh-Topia, although the lyrics are usually sung by Sanadrianese (one, two or a chorus). The anthem is always played twice in a row, with lyrics sung first in Italian then in Wymgani.

Ciò è la nostra casa (instrumental version) was played in Casari when Sabrina Vannucci won a gold medal for San Adriano at the first Summer Olympic Games (the country's only Olympic gold so far).

Lyrics in English

An official translation of the anthem into English was prepared by the Sanadrianese government in 1954. It follows the syllabic pattern of the original versions (7-5-7 / 7-5-7 / 7-7-8 / 7-7-8).

We of San Adriano
Nation bold and free
Value our long history

We of San Adriano
With our monarchy
A village community

Proud of our own heritage
Proud to help one another
San Adriano our home

Proud of our own heritage
Proud to help one another
San Adriano our home

The music of Ciò è la nostra casa is identical to the RL anthem of the Cook Islands, and can be heard here. (A somewhat less melodious midi version can be heard here.)
