Civil Breed II

Civils are a Brute/Human offshoot, designed in a lab to look fearsome and be overwealming in battle. They are stronger, faster and more agile than a human, with slightly less intelligence, but a singleminded focus on the art and technology of warfare, both ancient and modern.

The name is considered ironic since they are among the most savage of creatures when angered, dismembering and devouring their foes. Delta, then leader of Crimmond, named them because he felt the way these warriors fought was much more civilized than long range missiles and nuclear bombs.

The Civils fill a niche in the Crimm armed forces as elite hunter-killers, as well as providing the very best protection for political leaders, supplementing humans in both.

They were used, with horrific results, on the people of the Empire under orders from Varchak, hunting down other non-humans and slaughtering them, to cull the nation of 'unwanted filth'. This nearly parcipitated an invasion of Crimmond, by several nations, in order to rescue as many non-humans as possible. That invasion did not take place, as by the time the forces were approaching the Baltic, the culling was drawing to a close and bloodthirsty Civils were deployed to the shoreline, to repel invaders.
