Combiner

A Combiner is a generic term originating in Omega-XIII for a family of weapons that combine different weapons into one. Usually, the term would be applied to a weapon that combined one or more meelee weapons and one or more ranged weapons into one device by some sort of folding or transformation mechanism. The first weapon to officially be referred to as Combiner was a combination of a glaive, longsword and a hand cannon. The cannon was built into the shaft and the trigger is located underneath the cross-guard. The shaft is expendable (via a telescope mechanism) to transform the weapon into a glaive.

The term has retrospectively been applied to various oher weapons, such as the one wielded by the character Seiken of RuneTech, which would more accurately be described as a gunblade.

Please do not confuse with the weapon known as Combiner 1, which is a LMG developed by ProtoWeapons of the now deceased nation Kerbistan.
