The Conciliator Orbital Cruiser is the Alliance's premier close/ medium range barrage vessel, with a proven combat record and formidable array of weapons systems. Essentially a Battleship/Command Carrier, the Conciliator is clearly multi-role, and can engage targets of moderate size at ranges approaching 50miles whilst being able to deploy strategic missiles and a number of fast fighters (as well as Rhino VDOD dropships) without over-stretching its capabilities.

Although many say the Super Roman-Kegmenistani Cold War is long over, those in Roudland's Aeronautics and Space Agency believed otherwise, choosing to opt into the 'space race' that defined the latter part of that historical period. Through the 1980s and 1990s the RASA programmes were simply scientific, though in 1999 a large review paper was put to the government, stating that Roudland was in need of a strategic space fleet. This was because Moronyicka, a nation with which Roudland had fought twice before in recent memory, had developed a significant force of spaceships. It was for this reason that the Roudland Air Force commissioned the creation of an offensive-capable space vessel, as well as the organisation to govern their operation, the Space Fleet Command.

Currently, Roudland has built 9 Conciliator Cruisers, as well as 6 Serenity Class Maintenance and construction vessels to service them. There are currently no plans to upgrade or replace the Conciliator fleet, although it is rumoured there are plans for a larger class to compliment them. As of 2006, the Conciliators serve two purposes; they support other allied vessels in space (notably Super Rome and Gothria), and they look after Roudland's scientific and military network of satellites and stations (notably the SMART and Archer Network satellites).
