Conroy is a province in Kelssek and the fifth-largest by population. Its capital is Vickery and its largest city is Mazinaw, while other important cities include Beaujoire, Arlingsdale, and Dalesky. The province's booming economy is reliant on natural resources, particularly petrochemical products, while agriculture has been the traditional backbone of its economy with Conroy still the largest producer of grains and cattle products in Kelssek.

Geography

Most of the province is on a high plateau, with mountainous terrain extending westwards from Mazinaw and covering most of the province's northwest. The rest of the province is dominated by open prairie land, where intensive ranching and grain farming takes place. Conroy experiences cold winters, with averages as low as -22°C. The southwestern part of the province between Dalesky and Arlingsdale is covered by boreal forest.

The province is a wintersports destination, and along the way many tourists stop to take in the natural beauty of Skywoods Provincial Park, a unique temperate cloud forest.

Politics and government

Conroy's legislature is the National Assembly, a unicameral body which consists of 83 members. The current Premier is Joseph Sackley of the centre-right Progressive Conservative Party. Other parties represented in the legislature are the centre-left Liberal Party of Conroy and the right-wing Social Credit Party. Both the federal and provincial Green Party have often had difficulty winning support in Conroy because of their role in mandating the elimination of fossil fuel use, which many urban residents feel has held back the province's economy. Consequently, a reversal of the typical electoral profile exists in that urban voters are more likely to support right-wing parties, while rural voters tend to support left-wing parties; current Prime Minister and Green Party leader Alan Kerk's riding represents the rural town of Windstedt in the Vickery-Mazinaw corridor.
