The Consolidated Air Services [properly Consolidated Air Services of the Armed Republic or CASAR] is the Armed Republic of Soviet Bloc's primary air passenger service, accounting for over 80% of in-country and international travel originating from within the Armed Republic. The Consolidated Air Services operates as the country's primary air service, however, it is not actively owned by the state. Instead, the Consolidated Air Services is a privately created, owned, and operated cooperative amongst four major national air passenger services and their regional counterparts. Soviet Bloc Airways [SBA], the only nationally operating air service not to join the cooperative, had enjoyed immense success prior to the cooperative's formation in 2004 but has recently found itself as the least used national airline, with the government considering dissolving or privatizing the airline.

History

The Consolidated Air Services was created in 2004 following several years of hardship within the air service industry and represents an incredibly successful attempt at overcoming the nationally-owned Soviet Bloc Air, the previous 'national airline'. Prior to 2004, Soviet Bloc Air enjoyed immense passenger use due to the government's relatively exquisite spending on the airline, including taxes and laws designed to bolster the airline's top position. A closed-door meeting in late 2003 between the heads of TransAir [Transport Air Services], Armed Republic AirWays, Armed Republic Cargo Systems [ARC Sys.], and Vozdu Aero resulted in a mutual agreement to create an airline cooperative in order to combat the government's air service. The following year, and utilizing an interesting advertising campaign, Consolidated Air Services [which would use 'ARAW' or Armed Republic AirWays as an alternative designation] debuted to incredible fanfare.

Within a year, and boasting new aircraft, lower fares, and overall higher quality, Consolidated Air Services left its government-owned counterpart in its dust. Since its inception, the Consolidated Air Services has yet to see ridership below 80%, and has lured numerous regional airlines into the cooperative with its sub-banner of Consolidated Regional Airlines. Continuing advancements such as electronic boarding passes, "One Class, One Price" [standardization of first class as the only class], and ongoing improvements in quality have led Consolidated Air Services into a new age of passenger airlines.

Fleet

Consolidated Air Services operates thousands of passenger and cargo aircraft, all of which were inherited from its parent companies. An emphasis has been placed on smaller aircraft, hence the large numbers of <200 passenger aircraft in service including the immensely popular Cruiseliner I. Jumbo aircraft make up a relatively small part of the service, as due to the large amounts of potential destinations, there are relatively few people who will travel to one of the many destinations during any given time period. Most jumbo and larger aircraft operate directly out of Rostov International and usually provide service to major destinations.

Regional airliners not included in the fleet list.
