Cortosians

As their name imply, Cortosians hail from Cortosia system, a long-time lordship of the Cosmic Empire of the Planet Jurai.

Cortosians are descendants of semi-insectoid race, which, however, developed from hive-like social structure into a society of independent beings. Today’s Cortosians are mostly humanoid in appearance, though their semi-insectoid past shows itself in a pair of antennas growing from their forehead, inhumanly large fully-black eyes and in that they are completely bald.

Cortosian males and females aren’t easily distinguished except for their height: Cortosian males usually stand between five and a half to six feet tall, and they are about half again as strong as strongest humans, while Cortosian female usually stand a little over six feet tall and twice as strong as strongest humans. While technically Cortosian males and females have a great deal of social equality, Cortosian females are traditionally far more frequently seen in any positions of power then Cortosian males; as Cortosian males are subconsciously more comfortable with serving then ruling. Also because Cortosian females have noticeably stronger physique then their male counterparts, Cortosian Army is made entirely of females, although Cortosian males are not uncommon sight in Cortosian Navy. It is also important to note that Cortosian females possess minor telepathic powers, namely the ability to sent telepathic messages over a short distance. Approximately 77 percent of Cortosian population are females.
