Present Information
The People's United Dictatorship of Corvos is led by Paulus Dimwit, the third Iron-Fisted People's Dictator, after his father, Marcus Dimwit, and his elder brother, Gregorius. After a devastating war with Deianira, a bitter civil war with his brother Kilius, and the separatist Wathorn Republic (that was destroyed by nuclear strikes), Paulus has finally reunited the country, renaming it the People's United Dictatorship. However, Paulus' actions have drawn the ire of Nurcia. His closeness with the Nurcians' arch-enemies, Qordalis, and his destruction of Nurcia's allies in Wathorn have drawn Corvos once again into a Nurcian-Qordathic war. He now gears the nation for renewed invasion, but this time from a mammoth force of millions.

Foreign Policy
Corvos, because of its history as a socialist post-colonial country, is typically anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist in its stances.
Its closest friend is Rockadia, which is also socialist and also played a major role in funding the guerrilla war against Crookewit. Despite breaking off relations in 1965 in protest at Marcus Dimwit's political crackdowns, relations have been very warm since President Paul Hetterworth of Rockadia restarted them in 2001. It is no surprise then that Corvosians have a special place in their heart for their pacifist neighbours, and would leap at the opportunity to protect them. It is also true of the reverse, where Rockadia condemned Deianiran actions, and despite clampdowns, saw a welling up of support from the Cassetian minority (ethnically linked to Corvosians), which manifested itself in guerrilla sorties and smuggling across the border.
Since the end of Corvos' political isolation in 2001, it has tried to expand its regional influence via the PTO, but dismayed with what they felt was its betrayal and imperialist interests, Corvos left the PTO after its civil war.
Despite this, Corvos has nurtured relations with the People's Republican State of Pizzaiata (who helped in the war against Deianira), the Holy Empire of Panvexinia (who helped in the war agains the separatist Wathorn), and more importantly, with Qordalis (who helped against the Deianirans, rebuilt the Corvosian military, and has supported Corvos against the separatists and Nurcia)
Characteristics
The population of Corvos was 100% Corvosian (which is a blood mix between Crook and Corvoser) before the Paradoxian War; now, with the introduction of Deianiran settlers by the invaders in the northwest, the country is no longer homogenous.
Corvosians are naturally friendly, if a bit xenophobic towards imperialist oppressor scum. However, the recent war has divided the country between resisters and collaborators, and pro-Dimwits and pro-democrats, creating a climate of fear and suspicion. It is feared that these troubles could plague the country's unity in the future.
Before the war, Corvos was stable in every sense of the word. The dominance of Marcus Dimwit as Iron-Fisted People's Dictator was essential for this noted Corvosian characteristic. But the war with Deianira and the civil war destabilised the country, which only regained some semblance of its pre-war character with the reunification efforts by Paulus.
Corvos has always been a country guided by socialist economic ideas, and is also devoted to social welfare, though other concerns have overtaken this aspect of the government, such as a need for a stronger army and a stronger economy.
Corvos is committed to environmental protection, and will continue to be so. Its national animal, the raven, is found in great abundance as a result.

Climate
Corvos is predominantly temperate, with a high average yearly rainfall. Despite this, it has been noted by the UN to have the Best Weather in all of Paradoxia - twice. Its ideal climate made it perfect for the establishment and flourishing of a substantial colonial presence.
