The Egocentric Protectorate of Cosmic Brownies is a huge, safe, economically powerful nation, renowned for its punitive income tax rates, its complete lack of prisons and its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 902 million are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Defence and Social Welfare are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Automobile Manufacturing. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Cosmic Brownies's national animal is the Rodent, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Brownies.
