Cravanian Imperial Navy

The Imperial Navy is one of the older branches of the Cravanian military, dating back to the early 1600s. It is a well funded branch, however very small by most standards with only 370 combat ships fielded.

History

The Imperial Navy was at one time the pride of the empire, until the days of air power arrived. Carriers continued to play a vital role in naval combat, but slowly the Imperial Navy deteriorated to its current state. However, it is currently undergoing a major overhaul, and slowly reclaiming its former glory.

The Cravanian Navy currently employs 5,350,000 young men and women and actively operates 2,401 combat ships.

Each division is composed of 25,000 combat troops, amounting to around 3,000 armored fighting vehicles, not including transports other than APCs and IFVs. All logistics support is handled by an external Navy or Army unit. The above are devoted either to a land garrison or specifically attached to a naval group for offensive operations. There are 500,000 Marines divided among these divisions, which leaves 1,640,000 to garrison individual ships, battle groups, and embassies in smaller units.

Naval Order of Battle

The post-war Cravanian Imperial Navy is in the process of being reorganised into a larger, more competent fighting force with respect given to lessons learned in the Strobovian. Switching over from a battleship based to a carrier based navy, the Imperial Navy hopes to have half of its next generation order of battle in operation within two years and complete within six. The following is the structure of the combat units of the "new" Imperial Navy.
