The Republic of Crazy Rex is a large, socially progressive nation, notable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 23 million are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.
The minute, pro-business government, or what there is of one, devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing, Soda Sales, and Furniture Restoration industries.
Euthanasia is legal, 'Mountain Doobie' is widely regarded as the nation's favourite drink, fur coats have become the latest fashion trend, and the nation's first space rocket -- sponsored by Pepsi and shaped like an enormous soda bottle -- is being developed. Crime is a major problem. Crazy Rex's national animal is the polar bear, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the gold piece.
