The Armed Republic of Crezlyvania is a constitutional Republic, with Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of the government. It uses a single house legislature, the Senate. However, the Senate is split into three sections. Two of the sections write and propose legislation while the third group only votes on legislation. It is a strong, fiercely independent nation, known for it's strong recognition of individual rights.

While the Crezlian people obviously make up the majority of the country and are the natural inhabitants of the region, many people come from the surrounding areas including Alvia and Prezeland.

History

1541 – The large kingdom of Gratoria starts expansionistic wars on it’s southern and western borders. Before long , under the leadership of King Julian, the empire expands to the sea of Levna in the south and the Alvian Forest in the east.

1559 – King Julian’s heir, Prince Gradale, begins campaigning far to south, along the coast and gains for the kingdom of Gratoria the rich mineral wealth of Prezeland.

1573 – Now king, Gradale, expanding the borders even farther in his reign as king declares the kingdom now an empire. The Gratorian Empire stretches from Prezeland in the south, to the Salen peninsula in the north, to the edges of Gratoria in the west.

1598 – A small town in the province of Crezlyvania, known as Crezyltown, begins to emerge as a popular trading hub on the coastline between Prezeland and Salen peninsula.

1656 – By now Crezyltown is a very bustling city of commerce, trade, art, culture and learning. The town experiences many freedoms and privileges due to its importance as a port of trade.

1722 – The Gratorian Empire is involved in many small conflicts along its northern frontier, as it tries to absorb small factions and ethnic groups into its borders. These expensive wars are lead by King Klide who desperately wishes to expand Gratoria’s borders quickly and easily, to win the glory of Gratoria’s past kings.

1735 – The expensive northern wars are bankrupting the Gratorian treasury. Due to King Klide’s unwillingness to cease the wars until he has achieved satisfactory victory the Gratorian government is forced to borrow large sums of money from Crezyltown banks.

1742 – King Klide is killed when his convey is ambushed somewhere in the foothills of Oontnush. His son, King Davio, distraught by his father’s death ends the wars with the northern tribes and peoples right away.

1775 – The loans lent out to Davio’s father have not been paid back at all to the banks of Crezyltown. After the 50 year deadline the banks start calling for their money, Davio ignores them and places tariffs and taxes on the city in order to earn money for his lavish lifestyle.

1851 – Gratoria has gone through a rough period and went though several kings and line changes since Davio’s death in 1793. In 1851 a Queen arises to the throne of Gratoria by the name of Rolia. She soon decides that no longer is an empire a desirable thing to reign over in such a modern world. She changes the Gratorian Empire into the United Gratorian States, claiming it a voluntary union of the peoples of Gratoria and those whom they ruled.

1869 – Rolia, now wishing to be called “Mother Rolia”, growing tired of the greedy bankers in Crezyltown demanding their money year after year, decides to declare that the loans were for the public good and protection and do not need to paid back, after all the banks were protected by the money loaned to King Klide to fend of the northern tribes. The Crezyltown bankers try for legal action, but get no where.

1873 – The banks join together and refuse to pay their taxes and tariffs until they receive their loan payments. Mother Rolia sends troops to Crezyltown to force the banks to pay. The banks are burned and their “owed tax money” taken, their owners are imprisoned.

1873 – Before long the troops stationed in Crezyltown begin suffering night raids and attacks. Originally paid for by bank owners and other important town figures. Soon however the attacks grow and the violence erupts with the garrison at Crezyltown being slaughtered.

1873 - The bank owners are released by the people of the city from the prisons and the Head Chairman of Crezyltown City Bank, Bleu Sheer, becomes the leader of a growing rebellion in the city. Fearing government retribution for the attacks, the town bars its gates and sends a list of demands to Mother Rolia. Among which was independence and the payment of the loans.

1873 – The battle of Noble Hill takes place between Crezlytown forces and Gratorian troops. Although a victory for the Gratorian side, the heavy losses inflicted on the Gratorians cause the battle to be seen as a victory for the Crezlytown side that numbered far less. Word spreads quickly and rebellions are seen springing up across the southern coasts.

1888 – Mother Rolia, becoming old and ill, reluctantly grants Crezyltown it’s independence as well as the provinces of Crezlyvania, Velchia, Alvian and Prezeland.

1890 – The Armed Republic of Crezlyvania is founded, with the Creztinople (formerly Crezyltown) as its capitol. Bleu Sheer was its first Head Chairman, Velchia soon joins the republic and Alvia and Prezeland both form governments. A strong bond formed between the three nations. They form the League of Levna, to protect themselves from any Gratorian interests.

1956 – The Velchian independence movement gains large support. Velchia almost secedes from Crezlyvanian, but is convinced to stay finally through arguments made in the Senate.

2005 – Freud Kirstenstien is elected Head Chairman of Crezlyvania.

2007 – Crezlyvania enters the Democracy of Unified Nations, however soon left due to the authoritarian style of government and helped found the Democracy of Sovereign States, with the Dominion of Woodchipo
