The Protectorate of Crimson Vaal is a large, militaristic and safe nation that has become involved in many activites in its home Region of New Sparta. Crimson Vaal has become known in New Sparta as a formidible nation that will never back down from a fight. The country does not show much interest in political freedoms, but it does allow its people to live most of their own lives to whatever extent they wish. With this, the Vaalite people have become known as fiercely patriotic and give their support to the government, just to have more freedom.

The Formation of the Protectorate

After many years of occupation by a shadowy government, the populace revolted. The revolt was lead by a man named Sergei Vega. Vega, a brilliant young mind, quickly rose throgh the ranks and became a high-ranking Army officer in the rebel group. The rebels eventually attacked the government fortress and killed the leaders inside. After the battle, Vega was announced to be the new Leader. During his years he recieved the rank of Grand Field Master, and retired after he became the head of Government.

Military and Weapons

The Vaalite Military can be divided into four segments, the Army, the Aerospace Force, the "Wet" Navy and the immense Space Navy. The Vaalite Armed Forces are known for their brutal efficiency and ferocity in combat. They honor loyalty and personal honor above all else and traitors are totally unknown. The strength of the different branches vary greatly. The Space Navy being the most powerful, and the "Wet" Navy being extremely weak and almost not worth noting.

The Vaalite Army

The Army of the Protectorate uses many differing types of soldiers and vehicles. The mainstay of the amry is its standard soldiers, usually armed with an assault rifle and grenades. They use vehicles in the likes of assault walkers and tanks along with gunboats and transport shuttles.

The non-standard soldiers of the VAF are the cloned USTAD-III Super Soldiers. These soldiers have advanced armor and weapons, training, and natural skill. They are used for special operations where perfection is required. They have uncanny senses, and are protected by a large blast sheild. The sheild protects them from sound, smell and some visual images as well but mostly does not hinder the soldier. Without this, the soldiers would become overwhelmed and confused.

The other kind of soldier is the recently produced are the AKIMO BioMachines. Developed by VlerGen, Crimson Vaal's national genetics research facility, the AKIMOs are feared for their fierce and unmercilous attacks. The AKIMOs are very few in number, with only four squads (about eight units per squad) deployed at any given time. About six feet tall, these soldiers actually infest victims with a sickly red substance that turns the host into a creature with AKIMO DNA. The AKIMOs do not use conventional weapons, only blades and swords or anything else they can get their claws on. The AKIMO has been recently banned however, due to its self-destructive behavior and its tenacity in its attempts to escape captivity. The viscious attack creature escaped a research facility and killed all those inside. The Vaalite Government was quick to order the entire complex, and its survivors, burned or otherwise destroyed.

The Vaalite Navy and Aerospace Program

The Crimson Vaal Royal Fleet uses brute force as well as skilled diplomacy to get its jobs done. Though only having participated in minor skirmishes, the Fleet has a good track record for reliable ships and powerful weaponry. The Fleet does not assign a commander to a ship and have him sit in spacedock, but instead the commander is granted leave until another sortie is arranged. When a mission is set, a commander and an appropriate crew and ship are found and sent. A commander usually does not stay on one ship for long, and crews do not get much time for emotional bonding.

The Old Navy

Both of these branches were merged after the Wet Navy was scrapped and funding poured into the Space program. Many years went by and the technology for these ships became more and more advanced. In Post Overthrow Year 31 the first ship, the RCVF Krazny was produced and tested. The Navy and Fighter program successfully tested and fielded all of its four ship classes and two figher classes. The Old Navy included: the Apotheosis I-class Carrier[5], the Io I-class Battleship[6], the Krazny II-class Destroyer[7] and the Devastator-class Dreadnought[8]. All of these ships were made under the "SuperCapital" Doctrine, with the Devastator class being twenty kilometers long, and the Krazny class being nine kilometers.

The New Navy

The new Crimson Vaal Navy fields smaller ships than their former titans. The new ships are smaller and faster than the old ones, and are considered more powerful as well. The new fleet uses the same models as the old fleet, but on a much smaller scale.

The fighters of Crimson Vaal, called the AG-27s[9], and the bombers, called the GE-52s[10] were commissioned because they were cheap, and didn't take much manpower to operate.

The Weapons of Crimson Vaal

Much funding has been poured into this area, and has had very mixed results. A standard infantry rifle does not exsist, as the soldiers are allowed to choose what weapon they want to use. Choices can ranged from energy rocket launchers, assault rifles, sniper rifles and many others.

The weapons of the New Navy have been radicly restructured to fit onto the much smaller hulls, and are more specialized in terms of the desired effect. Anti shipping weapons include long range missiles, thermonuclear warheads and magnectic accelerator cannons. Other weapons are neutron disruption projectiles, which can be delivered using either solid or energy-based weaponry. A neutron weapon fired ship-to-ship deals minimal physical damage, yet deals massive secondary damage in terms of scrambled systems.

Culture

Crimson Vaal's people are known as intelligent, had-nosed people who value honor and bravery. This has led most of the population away from religion and more into science and careers. The staggering number of atheists (90%) in the country has dumbfounded most of the other places in New Sparta. The populace simply says that they don't have time for it, and they use their extra time to work or to live their personal life.

Though the population must follow some strange rules at times, they live mostly unoppressed in their personal lives and enjoy many activities unrelated to the government.

Economics

After much debate, the government moved the private sector foreward and announced that all things involving money would be completely controlled. The population seemed reluctant to abide to this, but the nation suddenly prospered. The country focuses mainly on Uranium Mining, Shipbuilding and Arms Manufacture. These three things are what drives the economy, allowing the nation to prosper and grow.
