The Napping Cats of Cromulent Peoples is a massive, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 2.705 billion enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level of social equality free from the usual accompanying government corruption.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 100%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Automobile Manufacturing.

Grues are considered a delicacy, the number of students attending university has reached a record high, scenic mountain valleys are flooded with water as damming projects get underway, and the government is making attempts at curtailing the flood of spam emails with little progress. Crime is totally unknown. Cromulent Peoples's national animal is the Grue, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Buck.

While trying to govern Cromulent Peoples with, as Abraham Lincoln would put it, "the better angels of our nature", Cromulus Prime was established to govern with "the right bastards of our nature".

This nation isn't often used as much, except as more of a utility nation. During the second refound of Loamhedge, for instance, Cromulus Prime was used to set up a temporary region during that time. Also used to occasionally make jokes.

What's with the name "Cromulent Peoples"?

The word "Cromulent" comes from the Simpsons, a made up word meaning "legitimate". It's a word that makes fun of itself -- something precious few humans are capable of.

Since Cromulent is an adjective, I needed a noun for the name. "Peoples" seemed as good as any.

What's that on the flag?

That's my parent's cat, trying to have a nap on the back of a chair. I thought it was cute. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
