Cruzada de O Império Glorious

Cruzada de O Império Glorious (English: Crusade of the Glorious Empire), also known as the Second DU War, was a major military conflict spanning almost the entire Democratic Union that was fought in the early summer of 2006. In Spooty, the conflict is known as the First DU War, as the nation was not a part of the First DU War.

Buildup

There are many theories as to how the war started. The most obvious reason was the sudden change of face in Spooty from being one of the Floydian Powers of the Democratic Union to joining with The Glorious Empire in his Axis Powers. Another possibility is that the International League for Liberation wanted to stop TGE before he became too much of a threat to the region. A far outward theory proposed by the Solists is that it was a ploy by the Floydists to gain regional notoriety.

Some of the DU's previous conflicts may shed some light on the rationale for the war. Just a few months earlier there had been a huge standoff between the Solists and Floydists within the walls of Spootopolis, and it was in this conflict that Morningstar, a former Solist, saw his opportunity to take over Spooty. He managed to convince several others to support him, and just weeks before the war he managed to take power.

Only days before the war the whole of the TGE area was consumed by extreme heat in the wake of the ozone layer's complete depletion. It's possible that the invasion took place so that the ILL could safely seal the hole before it spread to other parts of the DU. As mentioned above it could have been an attempt to free the lands taken by TGE, rather curiously, there had not been a huge amount of recent TGE-led invasions to suggest that this was the cause.

Operation Fletcher

On June 8, Palixia released a statement to the rest of the DU stating that he would be "reclaiming the Holy Land", thereby linking back to the possibility that this was a purely religious war. TGE responded to this threat by mobilising 10 million soldiers to defend its wastelands. At this point Palixia put into effect "Operation Fletcher" to quickly take the TGE lands.

Operation Nephilim Front

Upon hearing of the attack upon his ally, Morningstar of Spooty mobilised a few kabals of his famed Nephilim warriors. Unfortunately, there had not been enough time to rebuild the naval forces of Spooty and so he was forced to mobilise horribly damaged steamships. Eyygui, a neighbouring nation to Spooty, then got involved by blockading all ports out of Spooty. The Nephilim were trapped and now had to defend the island against Eyygui.

Nephilim elites swam out to laser target the enemy navy in the hope that they could open up a large enough hole to move out of. In response, Eyygui sent out 100 Bombers and 100 Dogfighters, knowing full well that the THEL system was currently inoperational and that Nephilim air forces were practically non-existent. It was at this point that Chuck Norrisville sent air forces to aid Eyygui.

Things only got worse for the Nephilim as Philanchez, one of the strongest powers of in DU got involved, sending along his fleet. At this point Morningstar was finding it hard to defend, so he ordered the laying of mines and tank traps. Word got back to the Nephilim generals that 75 enemy ships had sunk and 25 were under heavy fire, out of 300 this was a great boon.

In what came as a shock, Abascalania, an ILL ally, entered the conflict and invaded CN. The Nephilim chose not to stop this and simply brushed it off as an irrelevant event.

Operation Hellfire

TGE troops dug in light of Operation Fletcher, they used the natural smoke of the Ashlands to build up defences and began to destroy Palixian forces via artillery and hit and run tactics. A massive attack was launched upon the Palixian mandate areas with no holding back.

A surprise decision from the normally apathetic Tetris L-Shaped Block meant that a small force of untrained guerillas came to the TLSB quarter of the TGE Mandate. Using the Ashlands as cover the Palixians launched a vicious counterstrike, sending bombers into New Rome and forces along the Ashlands to shoot at anyone they could see.

TGE then consolidated for another counter offensive. The highest ranking officials moved to New Babylon and slowly more forces made it to the front in preparation for the final conflict. The airforce stepped up to the plate by increasing its bombing campaigns.

Operation Guerilla

Philanchez was the first to land, making advancements upwards onto the coast while taking moderate damage from the mines and tank traps. Eyygui landed second making a quick beachhead. The theatre of combat was then split between three areas: East, West and South. Morningstar decided it would be best to fall back to the cities and urbanised areas, believing the enemy forces would not dare destroy towns belonging to civilians.

The attacking forces figured the best and in their overconfidence simply forgot about the mines. A general was lost along with the following recorded casualties: 9,000 Soldiers, 12 Transports, 31 Dogfighters, 19 Bombers, 13 Tanks and 75 Ships.

Operation Hellfire, Continued

Neighbouring Hutten then joined the war against TGE. Palixian forces, after taking the beachhead, moved north onwards into TGE. Current losses stood at 8,000 men, 160 planes and 13 tanks.

However, a massive TGE counter-offensive was launched, effectivly pushing back the Palixian beachhead and overrunning both of the Glorious Federal Republic territories. The Palixian beachhead was attacked by both a naval taskforce, which arrived and bombarded them from behind and the TGE army, which began to employ psychological warfare. As Palixian POWs were being tortured their voices were broadcast over giant loudspeakers that never seemed to stop. The heads of fallen Palixian soldiers were launched at the defenders of the beachhead.

Brezec also joined the war, mobilizing 3 million troops, 2500 tanks, and 100 aircraft. However this attack was short lived, as after several hours of a "quiet advance" they were surrounded and overrun by the Glorious Empire's army. The army then turned its gaze toward the Brezecian mainland, begining a massive attack in which most of the Brezecian military was destroyed with minimal TGE losses. This prompted Chuck Norrisville to send aid to help the overburdened Brezecian forces. The arrival of the CN troops only slowed the advance of the Glorious Empire, with the Hutten troops remaining quietly hidden from the Glorious Empire.

Operation Burning Rome

This was the Second Counter attack by the Glorious Empire that consited of Three Fronts.

The Imperialia Peninsula

The main goal of this Force of 7 Million men, 7000 Tanks, and 250 Aircraft was to retake new Rome, and Expel the Palixian Presence in the Peninsula. A Massive Blitzkreig attack was launched effecivally pushing Back the Palixian Invaders and Reclaiming New Rome in a matter of Months. One Month After New Rome was Liberated The Rest of The Peninsula was recaptured and the Palixian Prescense Expunged.

Palixian Beachead

The Glorious Empire lauched a massive counter offensive on the Palixian beachead. The rired and weakened Palixian troops were attacked at night, causing the beachhead to be broken at several points and leaving only isolated pockets of Palixian resistance.

Brezec

The 5 million troops launched a massive offensive on the Brezec coast to isolate the inland defenders and cut off foreign reinforcements. The CN forces, essentially alone after the disastrous attack by the Brezecian forces, were unable to hold the coasts and were pushed back. A naval blockade was set in place to prevent any beachheads by CN troops.

Hutten's Betrayal

Hutten, so far inactive in the war, began a full retreat from Brezec. However, the retreating troops left landmines behind to damage the CN and Brezecian forces. Hutten had formed a secret alliance with TGE, in the hopes of becoming a major DU superpower once the war was over. The landmines caused heavy damage to the retreating Brezecian and CN troops. CN ordered a full retreat back to the home country after discovering that their closest ally had betrayed them. Because the rest of the ILL was fighting on the eastern front of the war, they had no way of reaching the country and the Brezecian forces were left all alone to defend against the invading armies.

Seizing on this opportunity, the Glorious Empire launched a massive offensive against Prague, Brezec's capital city. The city was nearly leveled and all Powerplants supplying the city where destroyed, creating anarchy in the streets. The Glorious Empire began a steady adavnce into the city and as the army reached the center square, Brezec surrendered.

Eyyguian Evacuation

The Brezecian people began leaving in droves, fearing a TGE occupation. They had heard stories about what had happened to Murky Moray under TGE control and feared for their lives. Brezec pleaded with the international community to provide escape from TGE. Eyygui agreed to help, but most of it's forces were occupied with the war.

The Glorious Empire, not wanting to go through the trouble of assimilating an entire population while in the middle of a massive war, decided to strike a deal with Eyygui. All but 1% of the Brezecians would be allowed to leave their country in Eyyguian transports. However, the remaining 1% were to be handpicked by The Glorious Empire's officers and transferred to the frontlines to fight for the Imperial military.

The agreement pleased neither side fully, but both agreed in the end. The relocated Brezecians were given land in Eyygui to live in until a time when they could be returned to their nation. The rest were placed on TGE trains and forced to fight against the ILL forces. Since the Brezecian soldiers had little combat experience and needed gas masks at all times, they were little more than cannon fodder.

Spootish Surrender

After Years of Hard Fighting, The Forces of Morningstar surrendered to the Abacalanian, Eyyguian, and Phianchian Forces. However it was speculated that Morningstar himself fled Spooty long before the Collapse of The Nepilhim forces. It has been romoured that he has been hiding in the Glorious Empire, under the protection of The Glorious Empire's Army. Despite this Abascalania, and Eyygui allowed there draftees to return home, causing the armed forces of the two nations to be weakened

After this Surrender the former Spootish military of the Ringleader Guard were reinstated and as much military equipment from before the Morningstar uprising was salvaged, this included the Naval forces, Air forces and the Schmiel weaponary, the Ringleader Guard were quickly sent off to perform duties in Palixia.

Attack on Palixian Colonies

With the Spootish surrender, The Glorious Empire appeared to be left alone against the invading forces. This facade would soon be broken. Ebon-Excelsior, former defender of justice, betrayed his allies and launched an attack on the Palixian colony north of their nation. The Glorious Empire soon landed troops in Ebon-Exelcior to aid in conquering the colony and removing any Palixian prescence on the continent.

Roughly a week later, Murky Moray allowed The Glorious Empire to send troops across their nation to attack the colony from behind. The Palixian defenders were being reinforced by Eyyguian and Abacalanian troops, along with volunteers from Socialist Freemen. The Eyyguian and Abascalanian forces had a technological and experience advantage over Ebon-Excelsior's, but they held no advantages over the Glorious Empire's army. Most of the troops involved in the attack were veterans of the Brezecian Invasion and had a lust for more Palixian blood. They had faced the Palixians only briefly in the Palixian zone of The Glorious Federal Republic, but quickly defeated them.

The Age of Betrayal

The Glorious Empire seeing that Philianchian Forces where gathering along the Palixian border Launched an attack against Philanches in Operation Old Hatreds. The Glorious Empire for sometime had an edge on the Allied Forces, but soon turned as the Satanic troops were being killed by heavy artillery fire. This was soon changed by Chuck Norrisville switching sides. The reason is still unknown why the swich occured, but was believed to be because of the Norrian-Abascal rivalry. The same later followed in Ebon-Excelior in which due to a coup, an anti-Satanic government was put into place. The same later followed in Murky-Moray. Some believe this was the reason for the fall of the Satanic Government.

Palixian Operation in the Glorious Federal Republic

A short time after the Palixian sector of the Glorious Federal Republic was taken, they launched a counter-invasion of the land. They travelled mostly during the night, and hid during the day under the protection of several artillery divsions. After finally reaching the borders they split the 8 million troops in half and are to attack from both sides. They had captured most of the former Federal Republic, naming it the Republic of Palixia.

The Fall of the Glorious Empire

Peace was negotiated after many steps, when a majority of the Glorious Empire's government lost respect for the Empire's Leader, George Pita. They soon claimed he was mad and stormed the Imperial Palace. The new Floydist Government gave back the Glorious Federal Republic and the captured Brezec. Pita was later arrested and the troops placed throughout the world returned to their home nations. A Democracy was installed in the Glorious Empire and the Glorious Federal Republic became two seperate nations, the Palixian side being the Second Republic of Eastern Palixia, for displaced Floydians throughout the war.

Post War DU

The nations who took part in the war slowly went back to there pre war status, there were some nations stricken by the War, the nation of EE for example had suffered the most forcing the nation to spend a lot of its budget in reconstruction which went on for almost two years after the war.

A lot of other changes included many of the first generation nations, the TGFR collapsed, first becoming a Communist State and then a Naki state and lastly returning to George Pita's Satanism, the Floydian State now ruling Spooty gave power back to the former leader of Mr Spoot who eventually passed away leaving his lands to Markus Falkon due to Spootlic Law which banned inheritance from females. And Finally The Corrino Emperors Thought to be long dead took control of TGE
