The Disputed Territories of Cruzendale are an upcoming nation at the most southern Island of the region Q102.
Geography
Cruzendale is a land of contrast. In the South the Cruzanian Mountains reach hights of up to 5.000 meters. At teh galcier areas snow is never melting and the bare rocks don't attrackt many species. More to the north the landscape is formed by slight hills, covered with thin deciduous forests. River Flumens is coming all the way down from the mountains to the sea. Many of the nations bigger cities are situated at its banks. Besides boats, trains are the most common means of transport between the human settlements in Cruzendale. All privat car owning is forbidden, so public transport is the only way to keep mobile. Innercity and regional traffic is free of charge and long distance trips are very cheap. The government found out, that they easily could efford the immense spendings on public transport from the savings, that were made, when street building and restoration became unimportant in the national budget. The long sandy shores of Cruzendale are well known through out the region. Here palm trees and dunes meet the waves of the ocean, marking a frame for an unforgettable sunset experience.
Economy
Cruzendale is well known for our Finest Cruzendale Sparkling Soda, which is distributed to all over Q102, to make the wounderfull people here even more happier. Furthermore Furniture Production and Restoration is quite an important branch of the Cruzendalian Industry. In the capital of Cruzendale, Cruzenville, a lot of smaller an larger publishing companies besed in the last decades. Hopefully they will bring up this business to new hights in the future and help, to spread the enormous knowledge, which is gathered at Cruzendales Universities and Colleges all over Q102 and the rest of the World.
Culture
Most Cruzendalians have a bachelor degree from one of the country's seven universities, but only a minority is really interested in intellectual debate. Still, humanities are a big part of university studies. Many famous philosophers, historians and archeaologists in Q102 and other regions spent at least some years during their studies in Cruzendale.
The People
Cruzendalians are really active people. They like sports, both as athletes and spectators. The Ultimate Frisbee Team is the nations pride, but also in Cricket, Inline-Hockey and Fluffer Cruzendale is hardly beat so far. The only Soccer team of Cruzendale, the Daleport Barracudas, are member of the Q102 Regional Soccer Association. Cruzondo, a difficult art of self defense, invented in a little mountain village, is only to be found here, too. In the "Cruzendale Outdoor and Wild Life Resort" in the Cruzanian Mountains everybody is welcome to enjoy some relaxing days with snowbording, skiing, climbing, rafting, hiking or just sleeping. The national dance of Cruzendale is the Lindy Hop, but also Tango and Salsa are quite popular.
Gouvernment
Cruzendale's parliament consists of one chamber with 151 representatives. The 15 seats in government are filled according to the results in the elections, which are held every five years. 6.7 % of votes give one place in the government. The prime minister is elected directly by the people and is not allowed to be member of a political party. All citicens over 16 years (or younger, when they already pay taxes) have the right to vote. Parents do get one extra vote for each child. Voting is compulsatory, but you have the right to vote for "nobody". The seats of the "Nobody"-faction stay empty in parliament, but not in the government.
National Symbols
Cruzendale's national animal is the robin. The birds are holy and officially have the right to vote in all elections, although they did not use this right so far. Cruzendales national plant is the palm tree. Coconuts are beliefed to safe lives and cure a lot of sickdoms and diseases.
