D'Angelines are natives of Terre DeAnge. They are desended from the Blessed Elua and Companions, fallen angels. Elua was born of the blood Yeshua ben Yosef (aka Jesus Christ) and the tears of the Magdalene (aka Mary Magdalene) and was quicked by Mother Earth. The angels took pity on Elua when he was scorned by the One God, Adonai (Elua's grandfather), scorned him. So Elua wandered the earth with his eight angelic companions: Naamah (goddess of the Night Court), Anael, Azza, Shemhazai, Camael, Cassiel, Eisheth, and Kushiel. After many years of wondering they found a land in summer and its people welcomed them and did not reject them like others. Elua had finally rested.

Elua then espoused the precept "Love as thou wilt" and he and his Companions layed with men and women native to there new home. Thus the first D'Angelines were born.

D'Angelines are of angelic and human decent. They have the forms of humans and are subject to the same afflictions. However, because of their divine herritage they do this with style. D'Angelines are, to put it lightly, naturally beautiful. D'Angelines have a saying: When you know what it is to weep at the sight of beauty; then you will know what it is to be D'Angeline." And even if a D'Angeline is not a beauty of great renouned they make up for it in many other ways. In their arts, crafts, and skills. Still it is said that the ugliest D'Angeline is often just average by outsiders' standards.

D'Angelines often refer to themselves as the scion of what angel they are decended from, save for Cassiel. Cassiel remembered Adonai's commandments, eschewed mortal love for divine (Elua and Cassiel love each other like brothers) and never fully rejected the One God. He is the only Companion with out a province. He however founded the Cassieline Brotherhood; celebate men who are highly skilled warriors and often bodyguards to the royal family of Terre DeAnge. Some notable Scions of Elua and his Companions are the House de la Courcel, who are Scions of Elua and rule Terre DeAnge.

Other notable houses of the scions of angels is the House Morhban, a pure scion of the angel of Kushiel. They are the ruling house of all the noble house of Kushiel. They are above another notable Kushieline house, House Shahrizai whose most famous member was the traitor Melisande Shahrizai. Both houses are located in Kusheth. In Namarre there is the House L'Envers who are said to have some Kushieline in their blood. They have the characteristic feature of having violet eyes. And all Anael scion have the smell of apples about them.

D'Angelines are also very open in sexual prefrance. They live by the words Blessed Elua spoke to them: Love as thou wilt. Kings and queens have openly had relationships with same sex partners or had "affairs" with opposite genders. One may ask why a homosexual king would marry a woman, only once answer: heirs. So it is never a shocker when a king or queen has an affair. This "rule" doesn't just apply to the royals or nobles, but to all D'Angelines. For a D'Angeline would never stay active in a loveless relationship.

There is also a place where D'Angelines may participate in their certain tastes. This place is known as the Court of the Night-Blooming Flowers, or better known as the Night Court. The Night Court by any other nations' standards would be known as 13 brothels at the best. But it is far from it. Men and woman willingly go to pay homage to Naamah who laid with strangers to be able to save Elua from danger and put food on his table. When someone becomes an adept of one of the thirteen houses of the Night Court they start working on their marque which is a large tatoo that stretches from the nap of their neck to just above the buttocks. Depending on how detailed it may be is up to the marquist and the adept. Once an adept has completed his or her marque they are free to leave the Night Court and be regular citizens or continue to stay at the Night Court. Adepts of the Night Court have the same rights as every other D'Angeline before, during and after they work at the Night Court. For further information on such see: Night Court& Rod & Weal.
