Daii was a term for chivalric knights in the history of Starblaydia. The word 'Daii' derives from the ancient Starblaydi word 'Eda', meaning 'one' or 'first'.

History

Though modern Lords claims of Daii nobility are contentious, the true Daii were the veterans, sons and descendants of the incredible Jhani Cavalry. These High Bronze Age warriors were the most powerful warriors of their day and constituted the elite forces of King Tivoli of the Jhan. They began as bronze sword- and spear-weilding outriders, their hair dyed a briliant white with limestone to call upon the gods for aid in battle.

The Jhani themselves were excellent horsemen and warriors, and soon they came to dominate the landscape of Starblaydia in pre-Christian times. A code of practice for these warriors soon developed, centred around honour and nobility. Before long the code had formed into a solid belief structure: the Fam’dai.

Over the next thousand years the Daii would grow to become the most potent force in the land as they took up the highest positions in Jhani Government and eventually rule what would later be known as Starblaydia.

The current Starblaydi club football team Iskara Daii, based in the captial city of Jhanna, also take their name from this ancient order.
