From the time the Treaty of Airgtheach was signed and ratified on July 7, 2005 until August 17 when it was amended to allow Dan the Merciless to re-enter the regions of the United Emperies and the Holy Lands of Random Militants, relations between Tannenmille and Dan the Merciless were somewhat strained. On August 26, war erupted.

Prelude to War

Dan's Banishment and the Treaty of Airgtheach

Early in the summer, relations between the UN Delegate of the United Emperies region and the Borderlands of Glatialov were sparking. Words flew, and eventually the founder of the Emperies, Tannenmille, ejected Glatialov from the region. Glatialov drifted for a while before finally settling in the Holy Lands of Random Militants, where a nation known as Pope Smoking Jews was stirring up trouble. Eventually Pope Smoking Jews was ejected from the region, but not after gaining Tannenmille as a tentative friend.

Some weeks later, Pope Smoking Jews returned and attempted to rouse an army in the Rejected Realms. Tannenmille ang Glatialov decided to side with Pope Smoking Jews. About this time, Dan the Merciless left the region. Glatialov labeled him a traitor and a coward, and gained UN delegacy in the region. Using his new power in the region, Glatialov ratified the Treaty of Airgtheach, a treaty that would secure him a permanent spot of power in the region and not allow Dan to re-enter the Holy Lands. The Treaty was drafted by Tannenmille and ratified by both regions almost immediately.

Dan and the Confederacy of War Lords

After his ejection, Dan created a new region, the Confederacy of War Lords. He recruited quickly, and soon had a region comparable in size to the Holy Lands of Random Militants of the time. He formed regional alliances with strong regions to keep himself safe. Tannenmille, now operating in the Holy Lands as Lower Sussex, moved a puppet nation known as "the HoteI California" into the region to act as a spy. Along with Random Militants, Tannenmille discovered a plot known only as "Operation: Chariot", a top-secret plan developed by Dan the Merciless to destroy the Holy Lands. Lower Sussex, now gaining some respect in the Holy Lands, called for an invasion alongside Random Militants and Geeks with Guns. The invasion failed and the three nations returned to the Holy Lands. Soon after, however, the Confederacy collapsed and Dan returned to the Holy Lands. Over the course of a few weeks, activity waned in the Confederacy. Dan ejected a large number of nations, including himself. He left to another region where he stayed alone save for a few Holy Lands spies.

Dan's Return

Dan returned in early August, and Lower Sussex; now UN delegate, and Random Militants; the founder, accepted him back in on the condition that he recruit ten people in a week. When Dan succeeded in this, he was welcomed back into the region. Shortly after, Dan the Merciless and Peffe Tannen debated on whose army was more powerful. Dan showed no fear of the Tannenmillian Army, and Tannenmille felt likewise regarding Dan's forces. War was declared by both parties and Dan and Peffe decided the borders in which they would battle.

War! The Forces Mobilize

Battle of the French Alps

Early in the war, Dan the Merciless ordered 80,000 soldiers to attempt to breach the French / Italian defensive line in the Alps. High General Cliff Deurs responded swiftly by mobilizing 300,000 soldiers to the region in order to secure the region. The Tannenmillian contingent was soon joined by a small group of Glatial soldiers from the Ice Fields of Glatialov. Fighting was fierce, long, and bitter, and both sides suffered massive casualties. Dan's forces, trained for massive onslaught rather than guerilla tactics, faltered and eventually were pushed back and destroyed utterly by Airgtheforce-Alps. The Battle of the Alps was the first major battle fought in the war.

Fortification of the Czech Republic

During the invasion into the French Alps, Dan the Merciless ordered a minor force to attack the Tannenmillian-held territory of the Czech Republic. Fighting was short in this battle, as Tannenmille's massive invasion of Finland deterred the attention of both armies.

Invasion of Finland

Just as the forces of Dan the Merciless were being pushed out of the Alps and Czech Republic, Reichsführer Peffe Tannen authorized and placed High General Chriztoph Vengerd in charge of Operation: Joya, the first of three operations that Tannenmillian forces would execute to invade Finland. In the first portion of the operations, 300,000 soldiers would be transported across the Aland Islands to Turku, Finland where Tannenmillian forces would gain control of Turku. From there, they invaded Helsinki. After large portions of southern Finland were under Tannenmillian control, High General Chriztoph Vengerd ordered Operation: Saxophone's beginning. around 200,000 soldiers would move into northern Finland from Norway and Sweden. Dan ordered the complete surrender of forces in the area and instead built up forces in the Lappin / Oulu provincial line of Finland. The Battle at Oulu was the bloodiest battle of the war, where some 400,000 soldiers from Tannenmille's armies moved down from Lappin and met with heavy resistance the defending forces of Dan the Merciless. The fighting lasted 17 days before an ultimatum was released by Reichsführer Peffe Tannen, saying that if Dan's soldiers surrendered and accepted terms of peace, the war would be ended and diplomatic agreements could be reached. Dan the Merciless accepted these terms, and peace would quickly be instated across the territories.
