Danaan Council of Ministers

His Most Esteemed High Majesty's Council of Ministers is a political body in the Resurgent Dream consisting of those Cabinet Ministers who, as a body, meet weekly with the Sovereign to discuss legislation. In ancient times, the purpose of this body was to advise the Sovereign on what legislation he should enact. During the long period between the formation of a permanent and relatively stable Parliament and the passage of the Agwenian Edicts, the purpose of the Council was not merely to advise the Sovereign but to inform him of the wishes of Parliament as a body. At present, the Council's primary function is to present legislations passed by Parliament in the last week for his assent. It is generally accepted that the Council of Ministers should consist, at a minimum, of the Ministers of State for Government, Foreign Affairs, and Federal Affairs. It is also accepted that, when there is a coalition Government, the Council should include the leaders of governing parties.

It should be noted that the members of the Council of Ministers are not the only Cabinet Ministers with whom His Majesty meets regularly. The Sovereign has daily meetings with the Ministers of State for Defense, Justice, Intelligence, and Security. He also meets weekly with a number of Ministers, military leaders, and other appropriate officials in his Security Council.
